Without seeing the team sheet it's hard to guess. 1. Huddlestone 2. Elmo 3. Fryatt 4. Brady 5. Livermore
I'd fancy Huddlestone, Livermore, Figueroa and Sagbo to have the ability to smash one in the corner. The likes of Fryatt, Brady, Elmo, Meyler might be cool under pressure but they'd scare me ****less too.
1. Meyler 2. Brady 3. Huddlestone 4. Fryatt 5. McShane ive always thought that the English problem with pens is that we put our most able first and work down until u have ur left back with one goal in 200 games faced with a sudden death pen. i reckon the confident lads step up first, less pressure and they bury them. in most cases the real business starts around pens 3+4, thats when ur big names and natural finishers need to step up. then to clinch the cup (if we are going to follow the wigan blueprint) u need a ginger to net the winner with thelast touch of the game...and if it were to be Macca it couldnt happen to a better bloke...bet he has a belting celebration up his sleeve. all this said, u never know....alan mcgregor, rosey and curtis maybe secret dead ball specialists in training who knows!? id keep elmo away from it though...i was at white hart lane in the league cup...
I bloody hope it doesn't go down to penalties, apart from a **** way to win I don't think we have the players who are calm enough to do it.
Elmo Bruce Figueroa McShane McGregor Do you know why Elmo tops that list? He's missed every single sodding penalty he's ever taken for us. I'd have him last. Huddlestone Sagbo Fryatt Koren Brady Boyd, Livermore, Meyler, Quinn - in that order to replace any above who might not be playing/if it went past 5
Elmo isn't a great penalty taker, his one against Tottenham earlier this season was shocking so I wouldn't put him near. I'd go with Mr. Hat Hudd Sagbo Fryatt Koren Brady
Talking of penalties, did I dream this or did Stephen McPhee once take a penalty, hit the bar, and then attempt (unsuccessfully) to scorpion kick the rebound?
Surprised nobody has mentioned Rosie, his penalty against spurs was top drawer, Elmo's however wasn't the best.
Hasn't he only taken 1? Yeah that happened on his return from injury against Cardiff when we were already 4-1 up, that was the only reason he was allowed to take it. It was one of those fancy chips (BCC will know the official Italian word for it) which hit the bar - very embarrassing
