Perhaps you should adopt a dire-wolf. Guaranteed to bring you good luck! :bandit:

Yeah, I'd have one if I could. Shame they died out around the time of woolly mammoths and sabre-toothed tigers. :(

  3. Both the dogs I've had have been cross breads. As you say, cheaper and live longer, plus the are more of a individual when it comes to looks and markings.

My first was a Staffy x Lab. Unfortunately I had to give him up after a year and I swear it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make. Had him from seven weeks old and trained him to do all the common things. Used to be able to walk with him by my side, always had a lead with me but never needed to use it.

A lot of the dogs I've had were bred using staffies. They have fantastic temperaments and are great family dogs. <ok>

  5. I often say if I had the choice of getting my old dog back, my current dog wouldn't stand a chance. I know that sounds horrible too. Anyway, I leaving this subject as its getting me worked up <laugh>

Didn't Hitler grow up in a loving & caring family?

It's NOT all about nurture - nature has a HUGE part to play in how a person develops over the years. Some people think it's due to some sort of mental illness, but we all know there are some sick motherfuckers out there who would do anything to satisfy their inner demons.
Same goes for dogs, not so much cats, but even then, they can be really vicious when they want, and have the independence to back it up.

I'm a dog lover myself but if I came home from work and was shown CCTV footage of my dog attacking the neighbours kid like that, I'd be digging a hole in the back garden with a blood stained spade.

Grew up with dogs rather than cats when younger but i've never owned a dog as my lifestyle does'nt really allow.

I do get the pleasure of walking a beautiful little tea-cup staffy once a week or so through a mate.
She's just a ball of muscle really <laugh>and very powerful for a small dog.
But her temperament is spot on with everyone and her character is fantastic.

More of a cat person but I like dogs that look like wolves so Huskies, Samoyeds, Japanese Spitz (small scale). Only dog I ever known properly was the one my parents had when I was a kid which was a terrier type that I remember always pulled at its lead. They had two and had to get rid of one when I came along because they got aggressive with each other.

    no arguments from me milk,

my uncle certainly was, and pitbulls are actually nice dogs but scary as ****, used to have it lay on my bed and i would wake up in the morning and it would lick my face, you have no idea how scary that is lol when it has the power to rip you apart.

pitbulls over here are brought up to be ****s any way so its not their fault, i realize that's not true for all, but i havent come across an owner who has had a pitbull for the right reasons yet.

any ways i am an Alsation man myself, lovely dogs, just pray you dont have a good one or the pigs will steal it, had one that was soft as **** but the police still wanted to try and train it to be a police dog, never knew if it made it or not, doubtfull though it really was a soft ****er lol.

    My favourite breeds:

Springer Spaniels - they're so nuts... lol. Can't have with cats though- apparently something called "springer rage" where they're quite prone to snap and attack other family pets- even ones they grown up with and love.

    Beagles - soft sweet dogs.

Rottweilers - have a bit of a "bad-dog" stigma, but every rottie I've known has been super sweet lovable dogs.

Border Collies- love collies, wrong dog for me though, because they require so much mental stimulation to be happy- wouldn't want to be in a situation again where every waking moment is spent training my dog to keep it happy.

Alsations, Labs, Greyhounds and Cockers make up my "special mentions" list for various reasons.

Don't care too much for Chihuahuas (or any yappy rat dogs)- some exceptions.
