I think he'd be a good signing, especially for a fee around £500,000. He was in brilliant form before he got into the Scotland team, and had injuries last season. I think his debut for Scotland was against Japan in a friendly, and he looked decent in that.

Very quick, and I think he should be our first choice left back if he gets a good pre-season under his belt <ok>

I honestly think we should be looking at Alan Hutton if he's going to be available for a loan again this season. If we sell Whittaker then we'd need a good right back to replace him. Hutton and Wallace on opposite flanks would let us steamroll teams in the SPL next season.

Whittakers is a decent utility player without really excelling in any one position.

When you think back to the SDM years, we were always the club that people wanted to deal with, mainly because it was a case of name your price and we'd pay it.

Now it looks like we're acting like Celtic in regards to not being dictated to by clubs/players.

When you think of the wasted millions we squandered in the past it's frightening and look where we ended up.

I welcome this new approach to signing players.

He's a good player and young still, I think you'll have to increase your bid but their doesn't seem to be anyone else chasing him, not that I've heard of anyway.

Who's to say McCoist never told him that. I think we could find a better player than Goodwillie for £2 million. I think it is in our interest to try and nurture good Scottish talent though. I think if we offered £1.5 million and then a 10% cut of the future transfer Dundee United would take it. If he's already being touted to join an EPL team, then I think a season at Scotlands best club and a year in Europe would be beneficial to him. His price would be more than £5 million if we sold him on, meaning Dundee United could get more than the £2 million for him <ok>

For a bit of fun - Take TheInTIMidator out of the loop - do not reply to any of his posts/topics. This will annoy him to the point of distraction – he will blow!

Every topic he starts or post he makes should be ignored.

Let see what he does – I suspect a name change…
