Will he ever regain the form he had when he first joined the club? On the come back trail now, so may have a new improved fully fit Fletcher ready for next season, then again maybe not. CROCKED Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has remained behind at the Academy of Light while his team-mates have jetted off on their summer holidays. The Scotland international is on the comeback trail following an ankle injury which ended his season in mid-March. And with his rehabilitation at a sensitive stage, coaching staff have delayed his departure until he gets to the next stage of his recovery. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet revealed that the the 27-year-old, who suffered a season wrecked by injuries, is making decent progress. But he says now is an important time to build the £12million man up further. âFletch has been out jogging,â Poyet told the Echo. âHeâs doing well, but, before he goes on holiday, he needs a minimum of two weeks training every day. âHe doesnât have to do it all with us â he can do a lot of it on his own. âBut it will be a few weeks before he can go away, when heâs fully recovered.â The big-money Martin OâNeill signing from Wolves just under two years ago managed to make 13 starts this season and was involved in 20 games overall, in which he scored three goals. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...e-for-sunderland-s-injured-fletcher-1-6618053
“He’s doing well, but, before he goes on holiday, he needs a minimum of two weeks training every day. Two weeks training every day?
I guess he means training every day for 2 weeks. SAFC quoting him directly without any corrections - not the 1st time either
