This squad highlights why we will struggle to get out of the group, our defence and forward line is way to weak, and our midfield lacks pace and any creative genius ( Wilshire aside).

I doubt we will get through the group stages.

Still no expectations could help, but we are a million miles away from the top teams in the world.
It is like Bristol Rovers playing Bristol City a non contest.<sorry>

Quite a decent squad that, although I wouldn't have taken Smalling or Jones

No Nasri in the France squad. Shows the difference between us and them. He would be in the Englands starting line up if he was English!

This is my first World Cup since moving over to the States, so I'm looking forward to seeing what impact (if any) the competition has in the American media in general, and how much live coverage there will actually be. I'm expecting to be disappointed compared to how well the BBC and ITV normally cover it between them. There are also some Hispanic/Mexican channels which might help though.

So far, no World Cup fever here.

Oh, in terms of the England squad? QF's at best, but may be lucky to even get out of the group. Hopefully Rooney won't insult the travelling England fans this time round.
