New adult season tickets at Burnley are £499-£685, which is roughly a £10(or 50%) increase on the cost per game last season.

£100 of that is a 'retainer', which you lose if you don't renew for the 2015/16 season(which is when they'll be back in the Championship :bandit:).

A well reasoned response from Claret's Mad...

I hope we're going to resist the temptation to take the piss with season pass prices.

I am concerned about what our prices will be, after all the name change debacle.

I'm fully expecting a 50-100 increase on mine. It will no doubt make me consider whether to get one due to costs

Didn't the Burnley 2008/09 season ticket holders all get free season tickets after they got promoted last time?

Only if they were under eight years old.

I am not exactly poor but a 50% increase would stop me buying one - simply because I don't like having the piss taken out of me!

Is that correct? Not saying you're wrong but that's not how I remember it.

In the same article, it says “We had 5,030 fans who bought season tickets in 2009/10 when we were in the Premier League who we haven’t seen since,” said Hoos.

They couldn't have bought them if they were free.

They froze prices from the previous Championship season, made U8's free and had a £30 season ticket for 8-11 yr old's.

If this is true then it's not so bad.

I've no problem with people who only want to see PL football being ripped off if the proper fans get a decent deal.

Erm they could have bought them. The offer was supposed to be that people who had them in the Championship got them free for the 1st season in the Prem. New fans in the Prem would have had to buy them and would be the ones they haven't seen again since.

It's a headline article which when you read it means little

Well thought out plan by the club which has backfired with unnecessary media intervention
