So, the end of another season has come and gone and we survived, phew.

Just wanted to make some comments about our players:

Cattermole - I absolutely love the drive and determination of this guy. He may not possess the technical ability of a Steven Gerrard but he totally gets what is required of someone who is playing for SAFC.

Colback - I truly like the kid, but I do think he has stagnated in his development and doesn't have the attacking ability of a Jordan Henderson (oh how I wish we still had him).

Borini - has scored some important goals for us this season and also works his arse off. Unfortunately I don't think we will see him back in these parts due to liverpool's champions league adventures,

Whickham - it's all about confidence and this boy ended the season with lots of it. Still more to come from him I think.

Giacherrini - I think he will have a blistering second season with us. You can see he is blessed with technical ability but he took the season to get used to English football. Look out next season....

Johnson - flattered to deceive. He has the ability but doesn't apply it consistently enough for me.

Larsson - hot and cold too often and cold way too much. Great the last few games but the question is where was that all season?

O'Shea - I'm still not sold on him, prone to errors and too slow.

Brown - awesome season and up there with Cattermole for player of the year.

Alonso - sign this kid to a contract, buy him up. Do what ever it takes because he is only going to get better. Came in and pretty much hit the ground running.

Mannone - did anyone miss Mignolet? No, I don't think any of us did. Forget the blunder in the Citeh game because he had a great year.

Ki - I like his game, but he needs a bit of an attitude adjustment. May not be an issue as he isn't one of our players.

A very trying but in the end totally enthralling season plus a cup final. I believe Gus Poyet is the manager we me to progress forward and upwards. Now we have to wait for the right signings. I love and hate the off season for the same reasons. I hate being linked to every player on the market, but love it in the same breath. Someone needs to knock me the **** out and wake me up in august when it's all done and we are ready to go.

I realize some people will disagree with my thoughts on the above players and that's fine because it's all about opinions at the end of the day, and like arseholes everybody's got one.

Pretty much agree with it all
Barring my choice of Vito as player of season, now down to Gus/Ellis to sign up who we need to keep, bring in ones we,re missing

Fair assessment imo, bit harsh on aj his 10 goals kept us in touch with the pack and his hatrick was a highlight

Good summary. I'd agree with most of that.
I still dont get though, most people slagging off O'Shea, I think he is still a very good defender, alright he makes mistakes but who doesn't ?
In my opinion, we must keep Colback and do everything we can to sign Alonso and Borini, 2 of our best players this season then add 2-3 quality players to the squad and we are looking good for next season.

But there were several very basic and costly martch losing mistakes.

Imho he is a much more confident player with Wes alongside, but Wes cant play 38 games a season. Love Wes by the way. Our rock at the back.

Next season our central spine should be built around Mannone, Wes, Catts and, if no new lead striker is brought in, Whickham (Im a convert).

Pleased that Brown managed to stay healthy but he and JOS too error prone at critical times. how many O G and red cards between them. Need Vergini and another deputy next season as these 2 fade

O'shea is far too slow for the premiership, he marks space rather than opponents and cant head a ball to save his life, apart from that hes just about OK.

What's worrying long term is how much Henderson improved once he left Sunderland.

Colback has taken ages for his general play to improve and Wickham had to be coached at Sheff Wed to 'learn how to score'.

There's something wrong in the basic set up at the club and I think Poyet will ask Short to make changes.

We've just let players go who we've been paying for donkey's years and getting nowhere near the first team.

    It's not good enough.
