Well according to The Sun Lee Cattermole will get a new bumper 4 year contract.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ermole-to-be-offered-new-Sunderland-deal.html

Anybody registered with The Sun for the full article?

I would be pleased with this as Cattermole is the driving force behind our team and I am happy if Poyet has seen this. Maybe him being injured against Swansea has persuaded Poyet we need Cattermole.

I wouldn't mind Cattermole reinstated as Captain as well.

    Thoughts?

I do not believe any paper.
Look at the drivel some of them have printed over the last few days. I will stick with SSN or the SAFC website before I accept it's true.

If only he could make more than 23 league appearances for us in a season...

Four years? Why not? I think he's still improving and is a big asset to the team. Four years gives both the club and player some stability and, if either decide they'd like to change, the chance of a transfer fee to boot. Win win for me.

Good move IMO, he has been excellent recently and has stayed fit and away from red cards.

We look a much better side when he is playing.

this - looked a lot better since he calmed down on the "diving in on tackles" front SOME of the refs seem to have realised this as well and are not booking him just for looking at them

A fit Lee Cattermole is an asset to us. He drives the team forward and motivates everyone on the pitch - John O'Shea may have the armband but we all know who captains the side!

Certainly hope it's true and not just paper bollocks

Would be over the moon with this, think he has come on leaps and bunds under Poyet - my player of the year.

At first I was in complete agreement about giving him the armband back, but on second thoughts maybe it's the reduced pressure which has helped him improve his game?

Yes but he now has 2 years of that left to run so surely the club would be best advised to offer him an extended deal to ensure he doesn't go for free if it comes to it
