After seeing England’s under 21’s crash out of the European Championships at the weekend, I was waiting for an article such as this.

Content is pretty accurate I’d say in relation to the heart of English players these days and can’t really argue with the fact that the money involved in England now is making club football preference.

A point that will continue to rumble on until our national team finds success……….so this point will rumble on for an awfully long time!

The only clubs that benifit from the PL are the top four. The money raked in from European games, or mega rich owners gives them the edge and can spend over inflated prices for players.
Man Utd have a reported £100m war chest to spend this summer, Chelsea spent £50m on Torres...I could go on and on, but how are the likes of Bolton, WBA, Wolves etc supposed to compete with that?
The smaller clubs have to spend big money just to survive and when they do get a good player, the big guns come in with an offer that the minnows find hard to refuse, having to balance the books.

Our club nearly died a death last year, due to years of overspending just to get to the promised land and we're still in intensive care now. Hull, Leeds and Leicester have all famously suffered in recent years and more will follow, due to the lure of the Big Time.
It goes right down the pyramid too. Stockport have had a nightmare time, Plymouth fans are expecting to start next season in administration....10 points deduction in L2 before the season kicks off can't possibly help attendances for them.
The distribution of the money from top to bottom is so far out of balance and I do fear for some of the lower league clubs if this doesn't get dealt with soon.

In all honesty, I'd like to see PNE spend a season or two in the PL, but if we never get there in my lifetime I won't be too bothered. I'm just glad we've still got a club to watch <ok>

It would be good if the Premiership concentrated on English talent but they don't. One day the money will run out
