I know I shouldn't let Allam turn 'tigers' into a dirty word but it just pisses me off now hearing everyone refer to us as Tigers constantly and there's no mention of Hull or City. Other clubs don't use the nickname constantly do they? In that video every single mention of the team was 'tigers'.
The camera man had evidently told them to say it as he was joining in on a couple. I don't really know anyone that wouldn't say "Come on City" or even "Up The Tigers", "come on you tigers" is tacky as ****
Speaking of embarrassing, Everton striker Nikica Jelavic has been called up to the Croatia Squad. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27401303
Don't think many people refer to Wolverhampton Wanderers ( a bit of a mouthful I agree!) - its almost always 'Wolves'
Wolves, Spurs, Villa, Saints are all used quite often. You could tell they'd been told to shout 'come on you Tigers' for the camera though.
What the hell is going on? I get the feeling that some of us on here are a dying breed, neither myself nor my Dad would ever say "Come on you Tigers", he never said that!! A sceptic might suggest that a stealth re-branding campaign is ongoing despite the name change being defeated.
Agree with this. They're overdoing it on the old Tiger references now. The fact the club's official twitter won't use the #hcafc link, & still call us hulltigers & only use UTT does my nut in.
Problem with these vox pops is they're filmed when most normals are at work. You're basically left with the easily manipulated. Senile old dears, mobility scooterists, chavs, other miscellaneous feckless and Peter Levy. It's never going to show up well.
The Premier Club renewals had the word Tigers about every ten words, so I emailed them back dropping the word Tiger into every few words of my email.
'speaking of embarrassing' ?? Are you posting about yourself ? Nikica Jelavic plays for Hull City. Everton fans cheered for him more then ours on Sunday, that is embarrassing.
