Forum will be closed with immediate effect For a number of months, and certainly since the end of the season, there have been a number of threads and posts on our forum featuring libelous comments, misinformation concerning club affairs, directors and club staff. This is not acceptable to us, nor is it acceptable to many of our fair minded supporters, who have questioned in which direction the forum is heading! It has become impossible for the club to moderate the forum to the standards required, and we are leaving ourselves open to legal action by continuing to host the forum under the official club website. We have consulted Bristol Rovers Supporters Club and offered them the opportunity to run the forum, but they also do not have the resources to moderate it. It is important for the club to keep you updated with daily news and for you to be able to give us your feedback. With that in mind, we suggest you follow us on Twitter at @Official_BRFC to receive breaking news, and for you to give us your constructive comments. Added to this, we intend to hold regular live forums at The Memorial Stadium, attended by the manager, chairman and directors for question and answer sessions. We hope you find this a more civilized way to communicate and receive genuine information from the club. Unlike the forum which has less than 1,000 members, we have nearly 22,000 fans following us on Twitter and the numbers are set to grow!
In the words of Corporal Jones, they clearly don't like it up 'em. Oh well, no loss. What's the point of a forum where you can't say what you want to. Let's hope some of them come over here. I ****ing hate Twitter anyway - 140 characters - meh.
Good riddance to it if you had a valid opinion on it you would get shot down for it and called a ****head so I wont be losing any sleep over it
To be honest, this is the only forum I post on. I simply don't have the time, or the inclination, to go on any others. Certainly not other clubs' forums - I mean what's the point of that? Unless of course you've got way too much time on your hands and have an obsession which is bordering on the unhealthy. It must be quite strange trawling through another club's forums, desperately trying to unearth quotes which you would then post on your own club's message board, but which are then unfortunately ignored by your own members. But I don't know anyone who has such a fixation. Oh hang on....
I have on twitter invited people to join us on Not606. So hopefully we may get so more gasheads joining us Would be great if we can be busy again like it was on BBC606.
As someone who posted regularly on it, this has been coming for a long time, always thought there was more sense spoken on here (not difficult), I just couldn't be bothered registering previously.

Welcome HD&Q! As you're probably aware we do like to have a bit of a laugh whilst talking about our beloved Rovers and occasionally baiting our twelve-toed brethren from south of the river. Good to have you on board
Welcome aboard It is a shame that they shut the forum down. Im sure there would be enough fans on that forum to moderate it for free like I do on here. The club could have got a handful of fans in for a meeting about what standards need to be kept and managed and then these mods come on the forum with the set of acceptable rules for us and then stick to them. One issue I had with that site was the double standards being shown in their moderating. Pretty confusing at times. Oh well, their lost and this sites gain. We are low on numbers anyway on this forum and the handful of us who have been on this site for a few years have been keeping this board ticking along but more numbers will be so much better for us all. Welcome again HD&Q - oh and dont worry about the City fans on here. Most are harmless
Oh and any new members who post comments or new threads which has a link to another site in it (like a picture for example), that coomet or thread will go to the moderating team 1st to chack for spamming as that has been an issue in the past! After your 1st 10 comments you will be free to post links to another site without the restriction
Well I am miffed with site closing - so here I am. Not really sure what is happening to a club I have followed for nearly 50 years and I am seeing fall apart in front of my eyes.
Welcome matealot - it's defintely a transitional period for the club in so many senses. But at least you can carry on commenting on here - and without censorship. We're a pretty positive lot, although the last 46 games has tested even our optimism. Good to have you on board

The OS was getting quite rebellious....and understandably so. We've had to endure s**t for the last few seasons and the main constant has been the board. Things have gone on which have barely seen the light of day...and the board is probably terrified of repercussions if they are widely discussed.
