He said a few weeks back that if he doesn't keep the managers job, he will walk away from the club. Apparently his contract was for 18 months with a **** off clause at the 6 month mark.
He wasn't a bad manager though, fair enough they did get battered against the bigger teams but he still managed to take them to a top 6 finish and achieved a very high win percentage. Perhaps I think the managerial merry go round is morally wrong and managers should be given more time
That would have been a reason not to give him the job but it isn't a reason to sack him, when he's been your best ever manager in the PL era.
I think he was a bit too outspoken or just plain odd for Levy / Louis. Inviting fans onto the bench, the Adebayor salute, chucking his gilet etc. Though I think his biggest mistake was publicly slating the expensive flops. These players have values to the club and every time he opened his mouth after a defeat or lacklustre performance he was knocking their resale value down. Now, we all like a bit of passion from the manager, but the moneymen don't when affects the bottom line. For me, he was just a bit odd and it did seem to be all about him at times. No loss.
Agreed. Never liked him. Pretty sure it was him who had his agent Eric Hall as his best man. If thats the bloke you want as your best man you must be a ****.
They need someone with gravitas, international nous, who is cosmopolitan and whose name will attract decent foreign larkers. Not some troll-faced jack the lad cockney with poor attitude.
