Actually, if you study our history of the period, we ran out of money and the owners nearly sunk the club which was in total turmoil. Rafa did go off the boil but blaming him for the nose dive is nonsense. Luckily we're in a much better position financially now. If anything I'd say you guys need to learn what has happened to us over the past 25 million years since we last won the league - as well as the nose dive under G&H.
The problem with Keane is (according to most theories) - Rafa didn't want to sign Keane in the first place- he wanted someone else but the board decided Keane was the man he needed. Like when Roman signed Shevva and Mourinho didn't want him. Never a good idea spending a butt load of money on a player and telling a manager he has to play him... if he doesn't want him.
Keane was a **** up from Parry not Rafa. Rafa made it incredibly clear to Parry that Keane was not to be signed for certain UNTIL Barry was finalised as Keane wouldn't work in the team without Barry. Parry ignored him. How can some of our supporters not know this? The 0NLY time Rafa got his top of the list target for a position was Alonso and Torres. The players he wanted but we missed out on due to Parry's incompetence, lack of money available from Moore's and the asset-stripping, debt servicing **** show that was Hicks & Gillette, reads like a who's who of world footballers. The revisionism when it comes to Rafa is laughable. He was quality at finding players, his bosses were **** at buying them. His signings for Napoli have done well sv far and i Bet it'd have been the same at Inter if he was actually allowed to sign a player, which he wasn't.
