    I cannae choose.

I've already decided i'm not having anyone from the 70s bar Keegan.

Hard to keep it as one squad.

Well I think Campbell's performances for England leave those two well in the shade anyway. He was fantastic in both 1998 and 2002.

No. This post followed yours. " Just love these early season prophesies, kind of funny and totally without value."

Oh I know - it was about Sunderland finishing above us.

Which I did predict myself back in October(ish) and before the season I might add. I didn't think they would go down because they always had that chance to stay up, even when they were bottom.

Your memory is working well. This was posted last September.

" Sunderland will not be relegated this season nor Newcastle. Both will finish higher than Hull City who will also be in the Premier League for the 2014/2015 season. Look for other relegation candidates."

Steve Mcmanaman looks really out of place in that XI. He was one of the shining lights of Euro 96.

No idea what you've got against Le Saux or Vassell either.

This is an impossible task, there's too many you just can't leave out. Le Tissier and Gascoigne gave to be in every single team for a start.

Its not so much the team that makes my eyes mist over when I look it up but the quality of players we had to choose from in those days as to what we have available now. So I'm going for the 1970 World Cup team but due to some dubious events of the time 1st choice goalkeeper, and the best of all times as far as I'm concerned, Gordon Banks, took ill and was replaced by Peter Bonetti. Now Bonetti was a fine keeper for Chelsea, City found that out in the FA Cup, but on his appearance in an England shirt against Germany he was a disaster. Jeff Astle another competent player but woeful in an England shirt but who else was in the squad?

Banks, Stepney, Bonetti, Newton, Mullery, Labone, Cooper, Moore, Hunter, Charlton J, Hughes, Stiles, Ball, Lee, Charlton B, Hurst, Peters, Bell, Osgood, Clarke, Astle, Wright.

As we know a Alf Ramsay's disastrous substitution of Bobby Charlton when 2 - 0 up sealed our fate, Kaiser Beckenbauer and der bomber Gerd Muller saw to that.
