Good morning GAT, I hope you are not too hung over after your excersions in "The Pilgrimage" last night. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I had heard too that he was interested in staying but if as the article states above he has the opportunity to move up to League One or even the Championship he is not likely to stick around long.
Bolasie said a similar thing before his move so my optimism has taken a bit of a hit, still I could be wrong.

Well this is Ridsdale's first test isn't it and a hard one. A player we'd like to keep I think but it's vital not to overstretch a capped wage budget. It's important to remember the two things pulling in opposite directions and back the decison whatever it is.

Voice of reason as always Distant (No sarcasm there I assure you :)).

I think that Nelson may have a part in him staying cos they seemed to be bonding in CB last season.

Speaking of which I wonder who will be first to swoop down for Nelson.

There's no doubt the club made some bad buys but it's pleasing that we have had or have a number of free transfers and home-grown players [like Noone, Mason & Nelson] who've been in demand by other clubs - including the two 17 year olds who went off recently to sign their first pro contracts elsewhere.

Yes it's disappointing we'll never see them in green shirts but at least some things have been done right and there's some money to come in if they make the grade.

It's vital that conveyor belt is kept turning as we won't be splashing the cash in the transfer market. Which costs money of course......

Zubar is on the way up,remember his brother is a Premiership player.

He has had a few weeks to ponder over Ridsdale's offer, problem is that it's only a paper offer, We are still in administration and Ridsdale has no way of stopping him leaving. The news is if I've heard right that Preston have shown interest and there is talk of a championship club as well.

With Fletcher,Walton and Damien Johnson already on championship wages, could we afford to have another player on high wages, from the small pot that we hopefully will eventually get when we are released from the shackles that restrain us at present.

Look folks there are a lot of things we would like but we as sure as hell aren't going to get many of them are we. If any player wants to go, and by that I mean anyone at all, then there is absolutely no way we are going to stop them and they will leave. The Zubar situation is easy. He hires an Agent and pays the agents wages. If he wants to do something then he can. It has nothing to do with the Agent or anyone else. If he wants to stay he knows the wage situation and it is up to him. Given that situation then we will soon see how much he wants to stay. I have come to the conclusion that nobody talks straight in football. That is what grinds with the supporters. We speak from the heart and genuinely but none of it ever comes back. It is sadly the price we pay for our devotions.

I've chatted to Zubar in the green Room in the past. My take is that he's a really nice bloke who appreciates the club sticking by him when he was in a wrangle with the Romanian club. I believe he is torn between this sense of loyalty and the obvious desire to better himself - which lets face it would not be difficult at present.

If he goes he will go with my blessing. He's too good for league 2.

    Damn agents<grr>!!!!!

Really hope he stays. I remember him saying he wanted to stay when he collected his man of the match award in the argyle lounge after the MK Dons game, he seemed genuine to me.
Nelson and Zubar at centre back for the start of the season would be awesome although i may be dreaming at this stage.
