Mel went today, but the tabloids claim that 2 more PL managers will get the boot tomorrow: Allardyce and Sherwood. Uncertainty over Pardew, Lambert and Mauricio of course. Half the teams in the League may have a new manager by the start of next season.
Newcastle and Villa should definitely stick with their managers. They're in that position where they're not playing well, they're frustrated at their managers, but really any new guy who came in would probably do no better. West Ham would play nicer football under most other managers but I doubt they'd significantly improve their standing. Spurs definitely can do better though.
I expect Allardyce will go now, Pardew will stay, Lambert probably depends what happens with the ownership thing. But yeah they should probably keep him.
I find Paul Lambert quite limited as a manager but his hands have been tied massively with the uncertainty of Lerner's position. Actually come to think of it both Pardew and Lambert play in a similar style with an over-reliance on a big target man, Lambert with Holt at Norwich and now Benteke and Pardew with Lambert, Cisse, Remy... Neither are bad managers and as you say a new guy would probably do no better but it doesn't stop the fans getting restless and frustrated.
You might not know how close to the truth that is. When QPR beat Cehlsea at Stamford Bridge a couple of seasons back, Twitchy made a phone call at half time to chase a player. True.
It's not derogatory at all, in fact its quite respectable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykDsmAqExH8 PS sorry for off topic.
Who said it was derogatory? I said it was sad. It is sad; one of those two ladies sadly passed away too young. That's not derogatory. Edit: I've just realised you said that just for the gag... Which I admit went straight over my head!
I'm just pleased somebody got the gag. Was sweating on that one a bit and thought I might have to resort to pushing further hints.....
My mate was sat with the man who took the call. At the end of the call, my mate looked at his watch, looked at the television in the room they were in and mentioned it was half-time in that match. The man said, I know, but Harry doesn't do the tactical stuff anyway, his team do that"
Apologies if posted earlier - Sherwood goes. Stupid Spurs..! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27389072
Blimey... it's all happening. Two days gone after the season end and two managers sacked.... could be a fun few weeks.
