http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/20140507-training-ground-1540185.aspx training ground got the go ahead. good news!
Pleasently surprised by this. There's been a lot of politics going down at the council so thought it would be rejected. Does this mean we will be able to apply for Cat 1 status when this is built?
If RD's pronouncements have any validity at all, I hope he keeps this as his no.1 priority. It is the only way forward. At present we have a lead over many similarly sized clubs. We need to stay ahead.
Excuse my ignorance lads, but how different/better is this to what we already have at sparrows, i thought this type of setup was well in place at CAFC already ?
no, what we have is a shack in comparison. its like having 3-4 of the chalets in skegness all attached to each other. its about 30 years old too.
The plans are impressive. Without opening the plans for the 100th time, does anyone know if this has a completion date?
At Sparrows at present we have a 1930's design sports pavillion plus about 4 portacabins for the away teams to change in (no showers) .... as SIG says the Community people have basically a big shed with a tin roof although this has been refurbished recently as a tree fell on it the weekend before christmas. The pavillion has a physio area and gym on the first floor and a canteen + changing rooms on the ground floor.
There is no doubt it will come to fruition. It is a pity that the previous owners couldn't put in the shortfall of 2m that RD is. The Community Trust money has been there since the Varney days.
That's what I like to read! Roland now needs to make sure our next manager is happy to work along these lines; Jose may well fit the bill.
maritime. with any luck, the cafc kit will be my new uniform. i'll never have to change clothes again #fullkitw@nker
