    keeping our players is the thing we may need a lunatic in control to make happen.

    I think we can cope with losing one a season. if we lose more than that you struggle to tread water.

    this season we've got the hottest property in the league under 21 and a 26 year old who might see his best chance to join a big club slip away if he doesn't take it. it's unfortunate both happened at once.

    Lallana is probably most likely because of his age and taking the opportunity.

    Shaw should stay for another season and then weigh up his options.

    You've made a great point there. We may have more success going for talented, lesser known players who really want to be here. We haven't quite reached the level where big name player want to come here and put the effort in when they do.

    'May' being the operative word. Did they say it as if they knew something or were they just repeating rumours? I'm torn between Mauricio seeing out his contract or that he only promised to finish the season.

    The trouble is we all know that secondary talks are due to start today, so every day that goes past without news will increase the pressure on our communal emotional bladders, and the bed-wetting could get catastrophic if there's nothing for a week or two......
