Now the Premier League is finished, attention turns to the World Cup (as well as the FA Cup final!) Which 23 players do you think we should take to Brazil? And what do people make of our chances?

    Johnson
    Baines
    Cahill
    Jagielka
    Jones
    Shaw
    Cole

    Sterling
    Lallana
    Henderson
    Gerrard
    Barry
    Barkley
    Wilshere

Three left backs out of seven defenders?

I would take Turkish Airlines, I'm collecting Air Miles from them and the hostesses are hot

Apparently Ashley Cole has been told that he's not in the squad and he's rejected the chance to be on standby.

    "Ashley Cole @TheRealAC3
I got the call from Roy and agree England team should be about the young players. I think it best I retire from England team now. "

    "Ashley Cole @TheRealAC3
We have a great manager and team and I wish them only success. I will be supporting them like a true fan. Thanks to everyone for everything"

Big loss for England in my opinion.

Think Coleen and maybe Christine Bleakley have a good chance of making the plane.

international footballs always been a let down , not really bothered enough anymore .

hope we win it obviously , but i won't be crying for Rooney , Gerrard and Hart .

the old guard is slowly dissolving but maybe the Euros , we will have a team with balls

I think most people slate England because qualifying is so boring & long drawn out, but when the actual tournament kicks off, most people get drawn into the whole thing, even those that say they don't care, they're like meerkats just in case!

All the rumours are that he is taking the young, inexperienced but potential filled bright young things.

    Plus Gerrard and Lampard.

I'm no big fan of Woy. He shouldn't be England manager but he is.

He now needs to back his own bollocks.

Play these young guns in expansive, attacking football and go out honourably but fighting in the one of the knockout rounds.

I probably wouldn't take a third of the players that Roy will. I'd be bringing in a whole new generation that could play together for the next few tournaments.

    Glen Johnson's cack.

Glad that Roy's seen sense and left Cole out.

I was expecting Lampard, Gerrard, Cole, Milner, Scholes, Beckham...

He needs to try something different, we haven't been successful in a quite a while. Sticking with the formula that has failed us so many times over the years would make him a bigger idiot than trying the kids. I think we're trying to replicate Germany of a few years ago.

    ****ing Lampard?

I hope he's only being brought for penalty shootouts and nothing else.

Hasn't everyone been saying this for years. Take the kids, go for it. Blaze of glory type.

He's been brought in to negate the inexperience. Having all the young players with no older players would be suicide.
