Just been looking at our remaining fixtures and out of a possible 39 points up for grabs, I predict we will get 19. This would give us a grand total of 43, which should see us safe. I was being very conservative in my estimation but even still, I had us not picking up points in only 4 games. Man ****ty, arsenal, Spurs and Manure. I do however fancy us to get a point at both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Also finish with a cup final win too, FTM

I'll be very, very happy with 40 points tbh. If we can get another 16 points we will stay up.

Chuck a cup final (or two) in there and a thoroughly cracking season had by all and thats not something I was thinking about 3 months ago.

    Impossible to predict football mate

Whatever happens, at this stage our survival is well and truly in our own hands

That's the fun part about predicting, it's a lottery. But I do agree, our safety is now in our own hands. We've got ourselves out of the bottom 3, we just need to make sure it stays that way.

It doesn't look like a '40pt season', I reckon 37 would see us safe. 4 wins and a draw.

Would hope to finish on around 42 though and a cup final win <ok>

36 pts and good goal difference will be safety. 37 is the average, mean & mode points needed for safety since the prem went to 20 teams. I think we'll get something like 13 more points taking us to 37 and safety.

Those 13 points will look something, but only something, like this:

    Hull H 3
    Citeh A 0
    Arse A 0
    P Wbrom H 3
    Pool A 0
    Palace H 3
    Norwich A 0
    Wham H 1
    Spurs A 0
    Everton H 0
    Chelski A 0
    Cardiff H 3
    Manu A 0
    Swansea H 0

There will be plenty of good & bad surprises along the way & the actual games will not be like the above but it's probably about the right spread of points, give or take 4.

Having said that, I could make a case for 44 points which would be 10th IMHO.

I think this season you cannot predict anything, I wouldn't be surprised if we lost against Hull and then got 4 points the next 2 games!

There is at least 8 games that are winnable. We're Unstoppable at the moment. Let's win the lot!

You've got 3 teams up top winning week in week out, and nobody really adrift yet giving points to everyone so I'ld expect it to be below average to stay up this year.

Yep my mantra is 5 more wins or the equivalent. Take this game against Hull, with the league games we have following, it becomes a must win game for us. Hull need points also, so we have a scrap or dog fight on our hands. We have to come out of the trap on the 'B' of bang, goals may be hard...could Altidore score against his old team? He has missed some sitters lately and by law of averages has to get a goal eventually?

We have great form at the moment and it's no coincidence that we haven't been playing the top teams.

Can we keep that going against them?

Momentum is important. We go into the Hull game with a lot of momentum. Just hope we don't have an after The Lord Mayor show performance.

Another win and that's three in a row.

Has the date for the west brom rearrangement been set yet?

    Funny though.

However, here's something interesting to contemplate,

There are more teams in the relegation battle than aren't.

There are only around 14 weeks of the season left

There are still around 40 'six pointer' relegation matches! (Apologies to Monty.)

I'll predict, as I have for many weeks, that we'll confirm safety against Cardiff and send them down.

I'll also predict there'll be serious bother in the Wheatsheaf.

What we have done is partly recover from an awful start..number of points to games the same atm, iirc we have not been in that position this season before?

Looking at out fixture list and saying we will lose there and win here..is imho, although it may reassure some, a fairly fruitless exercise like trying to guess which politician is not lying. So I imagine Gus is trying to keep the guys feet on the ground, yes a derby win is awesome for us, and a trip to Wembley is great. I am going if I get a ticket, as a season ticket holder, do I have to go to the stadium to pick it up on Monday or can i do it on line? p.s. I need one more for my son.

But the derby is only 3 points and after two good wins we have to keep going against Hull for another step to safety and will have to earn the right to the points by blood, sweat and no tears...But by pressing passing and being daring.
