Not sure if I would want them to buy us outright - not sure if it is a good idea having owners who tell the manager what to do and When they took over FC Red Bull Salzburg they tried to completely erase the clubs history, changed the football kit colours and decalred that "this is a new club with no history." - not something I would like to see happen to us .

But a shirt sponsorship deal for 100m a season , and naming rights on the stadium for an extra 50m would be nice

I dont think we'd have to change strips to do it either, as we are already red and white

Red Bull have confirmed to Sky Sports that they have no intention of investing in English football.

The Austrian energy drink giant has become immersed in the sporting world in recent years, funding and owning teams across the spectrum with football and F1 their most famed ventures thus far.

In footballing terms they currently have three teams under the umbrella of their organisation in the shape of New York Red Bulls, and European sides Red Bull Salzburg and Red Bull Leipzig.

Red Bull have long insisted that the British market was not of interest to them, but recent reports have claimed they were taking a close look at the Premier League and Championship for possible investment.

Everton, Crystal Palace and Leeds United have all been suggested as possible opportunities being looked at by Red Bull and their sporting director Ralf Rangnick, who looks after both Salzburg and Leipzig.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Red Bull distanced themselves from these reports and confirmed that they were not looking at English football in anyway.

“Red Bull will not make any investments in English football clubs,” Red Bull assistant sporting director Lisa Hohensinn confirmed.

“These were just rumours in the newspapers.”

You know what, I hate saying this kind of thing, but I heard about this from a friend in London about 3-4 weeks ago who goes to a gentleman's club with someone apparently involved. He's not the type to lie or make anything up, but he is the type to believe what people tell him.

I just dismissed it as Chinese whispers, but here it is again. Interesting.

Not sure if I would be against this or not...

Can you see us as Sunderland Red Bull?? or The Red Bull Arena as our stadium name?

If that was true I wouldn't mind them taking over if they didn't try the change anything around with the club, but pump the cash in for us to progress.

When I first heard about this I was great £££££ but I think I was blinkered.

What have they actually done in football?

Win the Austrian league, not that hard is it
Get Leipzig from 5th to 2nd bundesliga, if I had a few million spare change think I could do that with Blyth Spartans.
New York don't think they have done that much.

They all play in the same strips as well, white top and red shorts, same badge just the team name different (and its pretty ****e).

F1 they were good but struggling this season.

I just dont think it would be a bed if roses if they buy us.
