I wonder if people ever watched Tottenham under AVB. I would never want my team to play such boring football.
I want a Spanish speaker who doesn't speak English...the important thing is to keep David Salas. I don't think I can bear to lose him He is the voice of Southampton....I even hear his voice when I read comments from Mauricio. If we can't find such a manager, I think David could just sit there scribing with a knowing smile, occasionally shaking his head, before putting a bold line through what he has written when the topic changes. In fact, why isn't David an option on the poll?
There, we have the answer staring us in the face. David is just like Mourinho (just without the footballing experience). I have thought for some time that MP doesn't really need to be at the conferences because David knows his answers off pat. Vote David...you know it makes sense.
I would want someone who would play a similar style to how we play now, purely because of the entertainment we have been lucky enough to have under MP. Looking at the names on the list, none of them stand out as playing a high pressing, fast, attacking game. Mackay is a big no as is Sherwood and AVB in my opinion. Poyet and Laudrup play their football too slow in comparison to us, think the crowd will nod off when comparing it to our football this season. Steve Clarke had Lukaku and Hodgson's solid defensive team to build on, not sure he would be the man for us. Not sure I'd get Adkins again as our play has developed to another level since, and the same could be said for Pearson. That leaves Hiddink, who I think would be unlikely, Di Matteo, who has never had a prolonged period at any club so hard to judge how much was down to him, Petrescu, who I have no idea about, and Howe, which could work out alright, but he seems to love it at Bournemouth. It's a shame we just missed out on Bielsa, who is joining Marseille after the World Cup.
Ward-Prowse. I bet he can speak some Spanish too. So we can keep David. He can translate into Spanish for WP to answer and translate back. Everyone's happy!
