Tigers v Blythe Spartans in an FA Cup 2nd replay at Elland Road. I'm sure Tigers won, with Les Mutrie scoring.
Wembley Emirates 3 FA cup quarter finals Watney Cup v Man u Yeovil away Salisbury away the revival began Brentford away - we came off the bottom Every time we have beaten Leeds
I always remember the 4-3 game in the fa cup replay at middlesbrough. Atmoshpere was really good and loved all the hull fans joining in with their after goal music and then doing the same whenever we scored but without the music! Plus there was another quality dawson free kick which i managed to catch on the camera on my phone! Sent it into soccer am at the time they were getting people to send in their videos of goals but i didnt get on
I agree with you Nickynak, and for all the same reasons. 2-3 up with 3 mins to go then the ref remembered where he was!!!! I remeber being hemmed in to the corner with our 1,100 against their 30,000
I came away from the game feeling that we won it. The ref was a disgrace! Other memories from that match was Vinny Jones scoring an scissors kick for them, and Steve Doyle (I think it was him, or was it Bobby Doyle, always confused between the Doyles) scoring a scorcher from about 25 yards out.
Brenford away in 99 when bottom of the league, 7-1 vs Crewe when Linton Brown scored a hat trick, Bradford away in FA Cup in 1989 (2-1), Bradford at home when we won 1-0 with 9 men after both fullbacks were sent off - late 80's/early 90's - anyone remember the year? Worst game was away to Brighton when they played at Gillingham. 0-0, awfu game and more dog poo on the way to and from the ground than any other place I have ever been!
Beating leeds 1-0 at the KC, with none other than 'The Beast' scoring. Was gutted that his goal in the first got (wrongly) disallowed though, had a cheeky tenner on us to win 2-0 with parkin first goal scorer. The wembley game is there, even if the coach did break down on the way home, its a good job we won and everyone was in a good mood for the drivers sake
Boxing Day 1992 vs Hartlepool. First game I went to. Deano Scored in the 88th minute to make it 1-0. It was a terrible game, freezing cold and I got food poisoning off the half time pie but it was the start of the obsession
Wembley was good, Arsenal was great BUT I don't think I've ever felt more elated than 1st May 2004 away at Yeovil
Apart from the obvious matches in the last couple of years (Wembley, Arsenal etc etc) being an "oldie" like a few others on here my favourite match was like a few others - Chelsea 2 City 2 1966 FA Cup - Waggy scored both and I think they were at the Shed end!
Arsenal 1 CIty 2. Geovani scorcher and Cousin winner. What a feeling. Best ever win for CITY. LETS DO IT AGAIN ON SATURDAY. Kidderminster away was good too, "who ate all the pies?"
In no particular order, but top 5 would be, 2-1 v Palace 2008, I think that confirmed 3rd place for us. 7-1 v Crewe, knees up Linton Brown. 3-1 v Bradford when we were **** & Deano got sent off after we scored in the opening seconds. 5-3 v Sheff Utd at Wembley & finally 1-0 v Orient in the play offs that we lost in the second leg. Actually add in 1-0 v Plymouth on a Friday night when we were down to 9 men & Steve Moran got the winner, it took us to the top of what is now League 1 until the Saturday, also remember Moran getting a hat trick v Rotherham 4-1. So many games though.
City 7- 4 Swansea , i think it was 97/98 season it was early in the season and i think it was also our first win - there was some good football played and i think it made us all think a resurgence was on :/
Mine is Wembley 2008 for two reasons. Firstly, for the occasion and potential promotion to the premiership. Secondly, it was to be my last Hull City game before i emigrated a month or so later. From about Christmas time i had been jokingly predicting that we would get to Wembley just because it would be my last game. Lo and behold it was to come true.
Fave home game 7 1 against Crewe. The way their fans conducted themselves for the Raich Carter minutes silence was first class. I will always remember the 6 minute Linton Brown hatrick too. The 4 2 win at Hillsborough my best memory away from home.
For sheer elation - Wembley 2008, Emirates, Yeovil, Brisbane Road when we won 5-4 after being 4-1 down. For sheer despair, Turf Moor when we won 2-0 but failed to be promoted by one goal.
