Can we make a decent eleven from footballers that have played for City and are still playing first team football? Spoilt for choice with keepers, Delaney, Turner and Ricketts at the back...
Danny East, Gary Bradshaw. Who was that guy we got free from Wolves, went to MKD for free then Blackburn for loads under Ince? Is he still playing?
If loan players are included... Guzan Ricketts - Turner - Delaney - Dawson Marney - Andrews - Cairney Walters - Wilbraham - Campbell Mannone, Evans, Hobbs, Cooper etc. for the bench. Edit: Oddly that wouldn't be far off our strongest team from our first stint in the Premierleagueship.
Marney and Andrews ahead of Noble? I think not. I'd bring in Hobbs and Noble and dump Marney (or Andrews) and Wilbraham. 3-5-2.
I figured I'd stick with loan players who played a good amount of games, at least the majority of a season. Wasn't Noble just a couple and then injured? Edit: Just checked, 5 before his injury. I always forget he played for us. Same with Vaz Te only playing 6.
He played for City, though, which is the only qualification. Unless I'm mistaken, what they actually did for City counts for nowt - it's a matter of how good they are now.
Aye, it's just on a personal note I don't really see the likes of Noble and Vaz Te as 'City players'. Noble is certainly a better player than Wilbraham but the latter to me was more of a City player - even Guzan who only played half a season on loan.
