Who are we going to sign thread?

Both times I saw ranger this season I thought he was ineffective, so regardless of the fact he's an idiot, he would not be worth it at all.

 

I think if we signed Ranger, I'd go into melt down lol...don't want him any where near our club with the bad publicity that he seems to attract.

 

Sneaking suspicion that Junior Lewis will be looking to make a return to the club in a coaching capacity. I know it's not a player addition but a staff one.

 

Football Rumours are saying Jason Brown due to failure to secure Nelson.

 

Can't see it happening, when you read the rest of the 'rumour' it says Simeon Jackson will go to ebbsfleet?! If Nelson doesn't sign I imagine Taylor will go for someone like Paul Jones who has just been released by Crawley rather than Jason Brown, who despite being my childhood idol, is done as a pro footballer.

 

Nelson is on the front of the Season ticket brochure for 2014-15 along with Barrett and Hess, hopefully a good sign?

 

I read somewhere that AFC Wimbledon were looking at signing Jason Brown anyway. Tbh we need to stop looking at ex players and to the future. Last years thread was just full of people speculating about previous players and not actual potentials.

 

Gillslad im sure you're right about Junior Lewis, Taylor for some reason adores him!

I agree on the looking forward, unless we're talking about Jack Payne or Luke Freeman, both of which won't happen. However i do think there will be a couple of ex-players in the coaching staff, maybe Iffy or Ade Pennock will come back.

Please god let us keep Nelson as well!

 

Iffy wouldn't be an awful shout to be the new number 2, think Ade is on to a winner at Forest Green next year though considering them seem to have money to spend.

 

You're right PegLeg we shouldn't really be looking at him, Nelson is far, far more agile than Jason in any event. I agree to look to the future, it's just so hard to speculate because of his signings of young'uns. He's saying that the the retained list will be public at the end of the week in yesterday's video interview. Hopefully once that's out we will know the positions he is looking to fill. GmAD, I really hope that we are offering him something lengthy.

 

FRS latest: Nelson to be offered a 2 year deal, Bayo to turn down a 1 year deal, We are interested in Wayne Elliot from Bristol City,and we are looking at St Ledger and Logan from Brentford, and Hewitt to sign permanently.

 

Wade Elliot is only on loan at Bristol City from Birmingham, so I wouldn't be banking on it.

 

In other news Craig Westcarr has been released by Walsall so maybe we could bring him in to improve our thin attacking options?

 

I'm sorry but St Ledger? How on earth are we going to be able to afford a Republic of Ireland International? I know he didn't play much this season for Leicester but we have no chance of being able to afford him. Also Mick McCarthy really likes Hewitt and just wanted him to get some games under his belt with us.

Seriously you're better off not reading that website because the rumours on there are absolutely hogwash. Its the same site that has linked us with Alan Gow, Chris Dickson and Simeon Jackson in every transfer window for the last 2 years...

With Aberdeen FC as my 2nd love, ive seen Logan play a fair bit since the turn of the year. He would be a great addition but have a feeling he may sign on the dotted line at Pittodrie as he will see it as a chance to play in Europe and be closer to his family. Wouldnt mind him at GFC if not though, quick, good going forward but a great tackler too, can play on the right or left in midfield or at the back. Scored a pretty good goal v Celtic at the weekend too. Also if Scott Vernon wants to head back down south, he'd be worth a shout again, particularly if Bayo & Kedders are of?? He is out of contract this Summer too
