Did you go on holiday last year? Somewhere abroad? You are partly responsible for Wales' financial woes. Wales received about £350M from tourists, but Wales lost over £900M because our people go abroad and allow our money to haemorrhage into other nations. Due to Welsh people taking foreign holidays the economy lost half a billion pounds which is a huge amount for such a small country like ours. I am proud to say I didn't go abroad last year
Neither did I, but the weather was crap so I didn't go anywhere so I stayed and didn't help the economy In all seriousness, when the weather is great, nowhere in the world beats the Ceredigion Coast line for me
Haha! Same here, didn't have a holiday last year and contributed no more to my own national economy than any other year.
Neither did I but because I couldn't afford to and the way costs have risen in Rip off Britain I don't holiday in this country either .
I went to Kent for a fortnight in a fantastic barn conversion, right in the middle of nowhere. The biggest problem for holidaying in the UK is the price, it can be extortionate and cheeper to go abroad. This year off to Looe, Cornwall. Price isn't too bad, but took me ages of searching to get the right price, otherwise it was just to pricy to go to Cornwall these days.
Well, I've told the wife that this is the last year holidaying in the UK. Going abroad next year, think you get more for your money, going abroad.

Sorry, I like the warm weather and to feel the sun on my face as well as skiing. I go abroad every year at least 3 times and will continue to so. Unless they manage to get a ski resort in The Beacons.
I went on a Caribbean cruise and spent a fortnight in Cyprus and enjoyed every minute. Stay at home to boost the welsh economy, cobblers! You get one life enjoy it. The better the economy the more taxes are collected for those Morons in the Welsh Assembly to waste and line their own pockets.
Depends what you're looking for. I grew up near the Gower so appreciate it greatly but I like to see and experience new things. I enjoy different cultures (not too different), sampling foreign cuisine and trying to improve my sketchy knowledge of foreign languages - French, German and Spanish predominantly - by speaking with the locals. I invariably drive and keep clear of motorways so I can see the architecture and layout of small towns and villages. We take our time, take in points of interest, eat in local cafes/bistros or buy stuff from delis to make our own picnic and so on. The drive to and from our destination is as much a holiday as the actual holiday itself. Then of course, there's the weather.
Having lived in Africa,(many years),Malta,Amsterdam,Thailand,and holidayed frequently in Greece and Germany,and one off holidays in St.Lucia,France,Italy,Morocco,etc.,holidaying in the U.K. generally has little appeal to me. Besides it's very expensive,and the weather is so dreadful. The U.K lacks the glamour and excitement of the above. Who wants to be caught in the rain in U.K.? However,getting caught in a tropical storm in Africa,in the middle of nowhere,unable to start your motor bike,and having to push it ten miles back home,now THAT'S real excitement,and has the edge over a fortnight in Minehead,or wherever.
Same here Ivor get ferry over to calais then head south stopping for free in the aries on way weve done most of what we want to see in the uk and it will take years to visit all the great places over there. dont go to the same place twice if can help it but there are a few exceptions.
