Now that we have survived this season in the Premier-league our aim has got to be a top-ten finish,at least!!We have a top Manager in place, and we must look to kick-on next season and consolidate our place in the league.Flirting with relegation has got to be a thing of the past!We should look for a top-ten finish,at least, next season.I believe in Gus,and think that he will deliver us into a top-ten side!!:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I don't mind where we finish, as long as we are easily safe from relegation and we're not by the relegation zone all season <ok>

Will we be keeping the manager? My worry is that if Ellis doesn't give him the money he wants to build a team he'll go. Don't think he will have any problem finding another club the way he has just masterminded our great escape.

Will Ellis be here? Will that Red Bull bloke be in charge?

There's no logical reason for a club with our fanbase, facilities & potential to be struggling is there?

Clubs like Everton, Southampton & Swansea have little we don't and yet manage to play in Europe, win cups and finish high in the table.

They're the kind of clubs we need to target and finish above ........... however they've all been lower league or flirted with relegation.

Perhaps it's simply a case of various circumstances falling into place.

Southampton were in dire straits recently with financial problems and plummeting down the leagues with a terrible squad of overpaid players
..... I remember the Portsmouth supporters laughing through their arses at them.

Yet somehow, it all clicked into place ..... new regime, top players coming through, key signings and a manager who fit the bill.

If anyone can give me a reason why we can't emulate, or better, what Southampton have done then I'll accept we have no chance.

I am not bothered about a top ten place.

I want consistent performances against the teams around us next season, playing a good brand of football and to keep out of the relegation spots.

That red bull thing is all rumours, no?

If Ellis doesnt give Poyet what he wants now (within reason), he is mad

If we carry on where we have left off this season then we do have a chance of being in the top ten..

If we'd started off with the last 5 games we'd be dreaming of the Champions League <laugh>

Did you get your bet on?

You are right we should be above all of the clubs you mention, our turnover and fan base are higher than most and our fortunes should reflect that.

Southampton's saving grace is their academy which continued to produce a crop of players throughout their time in the lower leagues.

I would question why the AOL is not as successful, could it be the player development team, or is it a geographical issue, Southampton's academy doesn't have much competition in their immediate area, but we have quite a few alternatives for budding players including, a Manchester United academy ran as a satellite.

We should get top 10 every season, but we very rarely do, and even when we did recently, we were lucky, Manager got no credit whatsoever from some on here.

after this season i am afraid to guess.

**** team then great team then **** again then fantastic team.

If we dont buy a few (not 10+ like last year) but if the ones out of contract and loanees dont stay, we may need 14+.

I would really like us to get away from loaning so many, we seem to fall into the same trap year on year, and just never seem to learn.

Hopefully Whickham can stay fit and bang in 15-20, Altidore may come good if he can get 3 or 4 in the World cup, might boost his confidence no end, sell Fletcher if anyone will have him, Wolves might have him back or a Scottish team.

If we play like we have the past 4 weeks (and get similar results) Champions league, but we all know that is very unlikely, just mid table and avoiding the dreaded drop all season will do me for next season, as i think if we are in the **** next season, i dont think we would replicate this great escape, not sure anyone could for that matter.

After last season with pdc scrapping us by I was quite excited and optimistic tbh, the greatest of escapes with Gus and one game to spare I feel reassured. Borini's goal sums up our football of late for me! Whickam is the key upfront, I'm a big fan as well of catts a hard digger who loves a scrap! Love that bloke! Agree with the loanee's situation, not healthy for our ambitious club. We deserve better and I'm awaiting the lee congerton better!

I just hope this resurgence hasn't just papered over the cracks we seen before, and then its same old next season, thats my main worry.

I for one hope that 14/15 is less worry worry. Agreed paper over the cracks since Fathead has been in charge but with poyet it's different Steve. it's bloody football for a start <party><party> As they say, the table doesn't lie onwards & upwards!

I'd have to say, 'You've had years of excellent facilities & finance to produce the goods' and bring in people who can do better.
