Never seen anything like those last 10 mins at the sol Everybody and i mean everybody chanting the great escape and clapping along, will live forever in my memory. Cant wait for more of the same on sunday, was bloody fantastic and the loudest i've heard the sol Thats what we as fans combined are capable of The roker roar returned last night
My daughter most enjoyed the pitch invasion afterwards and the stewards inability to catch the buggers - but then again she's only 12 and kids like things like that - saying that she hasn't seen Sunderland lose yet so I'm keeping her as special weapon to use occasionally when needed
The chanting and noise at the end was fantastic, and I bet all those who normally sit there all quiet thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the atmosphere...That's how it should be at all our games from the word go: wouldn't that be something..
Same to you fella. Shame we couldn't have a proper chat, hadn't realised how close we'd cut it there. Got a season card for next year so we'll have to meet for a proper pre/post match drink.
The lad who the fat bloke in the orange jacket tried to catch was funny as - the fat bloke - who also once chase me along the entire west stand for saying "no" when he asked me to walk up the steps (after the match had finished) and was out of puff at chasing me at not much more than my walking pace (I'm a runner anyway so wouldn;t fancy his chances) - He was in the crowd, up the seats and over the wall before anyone had a chance of catching him and disappeared into the crowd! Awesome.
the stewards seemed to get a bit rough with some of them to be fair. I saw one young lad get dragged along the front of the south stand, one steward had his hands behind his back and another one had him in a choke hold. the atmosphere was amazing though, best its ever been
Any chance we'll get done for pitch encroachment and failure to control the crowd? I know how awesome staying up is but there's no need to go on the pitch. Surely cctv will be able to identify those who have season cards or bought tickets with a credit card so what's the point? You'll get found out. I saw one guy get gored over the advertising boards. I'll admit that was hilarious and probably worth a potential fine alone.
I have just watched loads of mass pitch invasions on TV in the past week at the end of games with not a mention about fines etc, so I hardly think that a handful of kids getting on the pitch after the game has finished is going to get us into any bother.. I hope that everyone keeps off the pitch on Sunday so the crowd are allowed to show their appreciation of the players at the end of the game.
I hope not, it was just over excited kids imo, didnt do any harm, just a few knee slides and belly flops
