Enjoy the drinks in Sunderland tonight chaps, unbelievable great escape.

Truly deserved to stay up after doing it the hard way! Poyet has done a fantastic job. Don't want to be patronising at all, just as a saints fan I know what great escapes, but more importantly relegations feel like, so fair ****ing play.

Ensuring premier league survival with a single game to spare deserves no congratulations.

The 'mighty Gus' had this team for most of the season and it was only a couple of weeks ago their own fans were calling the whole team a gutless bunch of bastards. Some were calling for the manager's head. (Read this very forum). Now they are all heroes and Gus is a miracle worker.

Like when we finished 16th last season, I was relieved but at the same time disgusted at the season wed had, definitely not proud!

Well done for staying in the league?? No, I can't. Am I saying well done to the other 16 teams? Are you running to our board saying well done?

I don't think scraping survival is something to be proud of. Luckily you hit form just in time, or when your amazing manager realised you had a goalscorer in your ranks after 27 games or summit. Tactical genius eh?

But we weren't just scrapping. We were as good as down. Dead man walking.

Boo f*****g hoo, the only bonfire you're pissing on is your own. Nobody cares what you think, probably in life in general by the sound of your miserable tone.

I said 'scraping' survival, which is what you've just done.

You still had games left so always had a chance..as long as it's mathematicaly possible you aren't down (obviously). Don't talk like you've come back from the dead for gods sake. This really isn't as dramatic or exciting as you're all making out. You had games in hand, you won them, you're staying up...move on.

Alan P45due still has umpteen years left on his contract.

Tragic wind up falls flat on face. Feeble attempt to piss on neighbour's joy ends in wet pants syndrome.
