"I have a connection very close to Bernie in another of his sporting business and have been assured that it is only a matter of time. He wouldn't say where from but I imagine it is an improved mittal bid." This has just been been posted anonymously in the comments box of the piece I wrote a while ago moaning about the state of the club ( http://thisismyengland.blogspot.com/...e-with_07.html ) He/she goes on to make claims for the reliability of the info... make of it what you will...
Time, unfortunately, seems to be the only thing the owners have a finite amount of. There's seemingly endless money, but the clock is ticking and they don't want to spend.
Sorry: http://thisismyengland.blogspot.com/2011/06/why-i-might-be-falling-out-of-love-with_07.html - it's in the comments box...
Cerny said it would be by thursday, for me it has to be before July so we can settle and build a side. Please god be true.
Morning all.... I have just received an email from a mate, who knows CB.... He got a text message from him saying that the deal will go through by the END of this week.....Possibly on Thursday, but more likely on friday. Please bear in mind that this is from my mate who stitched me up......BUT, I do believe him, as he has nothing to gain from doing me again.
This is also the reason that there have been NO signings yet. The takeover has to go through first....then money will be released. I have my fingers crossed, as much as you all do!
TBH while some kind of firm commitment from the Mittals would be great I'd be happy with any new owner/investor who actually really wanted to be involved in QPR right now. Our existing trio of pocket-liners are clearly far more interested in stitching each other up for a few million quid than thay are about making a go of the football team. I suspect they simply don't understand the urgency at this stage in proceedings. Makes you wonder what NW thinks...
I would not be surprised to see him with considerably less hair by the time the season starts! He must be going mental (inside) with frustration
That, surely, would depend on how much he's being kept in the loop? If he's fully aware of what's going on, then he has no reason to worry....So, he'll be off on his hols, relaxing, knowing that he'll come back to a big pot of cash to buy players.... Or....first game of the season, he'll come out with no hair at all!!!
The only reason I said that is because he would much rather be 'active' in the transfer market now and in the last few weeks. I am not saying any player that has moved to another club since the end of the season is any better than what is still available but he must be frustrated at seeing the likes of Norwich, Swansea, Wolves etc snapping up players when his hands appeared to be tied by the boardroom playground
I'm sure it's been frustrating for NW but I think his patience will be rewarded if the Mittal's kick out the Goons.
Thai - Have to say that although you and swansea have been active not actually much quality going into your teams my friend. I've said before i';d rather nothing happen at the moment than signing some paydate have beens. If we get to mid July and still no joy then maybe time to gloat , bit too early as most teams not even back for preseason yet. I believe CB and totally agree that no signings is a sign in itself that something will happen soon. That goes for outs aswell as in's. All we have done so far is cut the out of contract players.
Patience is a virtue. Didn't we have to wait until a week before the season started last year to pick up our marquee signing? (Tarbs). We should be looking at quality not quantity, we've already got a massive squad.
All too quiet on the Rangers front for a while now... but gradually we're hearing birdies tweeting amidst the rustling of branches in the virtual trees. Serious Smudge and David Mac type birdies too, in amongst anonymous mates of mates who've rarely been wrong... But it's not so much about the whispers and anticipations is it? It's also about what we're not hearing. Surely with his size nines back under the power table, the car crash in blue glasses couldn't have resisted the chance to meddle... but no real meddling to date? Is this relentless series of Rangers' intrigues at the tipping point? Who knows? But everything about my person is so crossed at the moment, I can hardly breathe... if a new dawn finally rises, I'm gonna need to get assistance to unravel me! If it doesn't, I'll be the good for nothing some always said I was anyway!!
You and me both, Brixton! If there's truth in all this, I imagine City lawyers are working through the night to get the agreement signed by the end of the week. Andrew, she looks almost young enough to be Bernie's girlfriend...
