i see we are suppose to be talking to jay boothroyd about joining us lets hope we offer him a good deal as there seems a lot of clubs after him,we keep losing our targets at the moment and another one wouldnt go down to well, we need to be signing some of these players the fact that we miss out is a little worrying,we certainly cant go in to the season with the same squad as last or we will be in big trouble
bowlesnumber10, You know that I know that, lets hope that the board puts their hands in their pockets.
With the likes of wolves splashing out decent money on good quality signings like O'hara it makes you wonder how we will survive next year with our current squad, especially if the 10 million mentioned is all we have to spend. Not saying that we can't but warnock has to be shrewd with the players he brings in to make sure they improve key areas of the team, which for me is upfront, centre mid and probably another decent centre half and full back
He comes back from holiday tommorow 23rd according to reports and is expected to speak to QPR by the end of the week
All of a sudden he likes our 3rd kit Jay Bothroyd to sign for in Summer 2011 Transfer Window Join By End Of Summer Transfer Window Celtic 1/8 Everton 5/2 Q.P.R. 3/1 Aston Villa 10/1 Fulham 16/1 Bolton 16/1 Newcastle 16/1 Sunderland 16/1 Tottenham 20/1 Blackburn 20/1 Stoke 25/1 Swansea 33/1 West Brom 33/1 Wigan 33/1
I know QPR fans are getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of inward transfer activity at your club but I am not sure JB is the sort of player you want/need. I would say this appears to be getting someone for the sake of it and hoping the fans will be happy. His goal scoring record including his most prolific spell at Cardiff works out at less than 1 goal in 3 games - and that is mainly in the championship Wiki shows the following stats Years Team Apps Goals 2000–2003 Coventry City 72 14 2003–2005 Perugia 28 5 2004–2005 Blackburn Rovers 11 1 2005–2006 Charlton Athletic 18 2 2006–2008 Wolves 55 12 2008 Stoke City (loan) 4 0 2008–2011 Cardiff City 116 41 Not very convincing numbers in reality and looks like Rangercol has the right thought about him.
reading a tweet by Marc Bircham this AM it said "@ Moose_talkSPORT Jay B a def no as we have a 20k a week wage cap and he wants 40k with a MASSIVE signing on Yes on DJ 1.2 mill and Bullard loan" He then tweets its a joke
This is bollocks. Ever seen Bothroyd play? He is a class act. Played for England last season for ****s sake.... Didn't see fatman Holt in the squad either ........Also your math is ****e if you think that 41 goals in 116 games is less than 1 in 3. Twat
Read my original post again, it said - His goal scoring record including his most prolific spell at Cardiff works out at less than 1 goal in 3 games Total goals 75 - appearances 304 - On my calculator that comes to 1 goal in every 4.05 games - twat! Yes I have seen him play, albeit on TV. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good and after his England call up he had a not so good patch, right up until the end of the season.
Thai - I think that bakes forgot to read the word "Including" in your post, substitutung the word "during"..... It would be interesting to see him at LR, because looking at the list, his goals to games ration is improving steadily. He may OVERALL have a 1-in-4.05 ratio, but at Cardiff that was 1-in-2.82, and THAT was in a team where he was competing for meagre service against Chopra, Whittingham, and that greedy bugger Bellamy. At QPR this season he would have been saturated with service, and I am certain would have scored more goals - certainly more that Helgs, Hulse and the like. He holds up the ball well, has strength, and gives the midfield time to get forward. He could do well for us - as long as the price is right, as we have shown that we're not interested in paying over the odds for any player.
No point arguing about it, this tweet sounds about right. And bakes don't call Thai a twat , he's sensitive.
Your points are perfectly valid but I believe a number of Bluebirds would also say that although his temperament is not the same as Adel Taarabt, he can be prone to 'going awol' on occasions and not always because things are not going his way. On his day I accept he can be outstanding and sometimes (with the right service) unplayable but I do not think you will get that week in, week out in the PL. Only my opinion and of course could be totally wrong which is why I am not in football management
No problem with that one with a winkie and more than happy to fight fire with fire I will not wum on this site but if any abuse comes my way following a reasoned post, expect it to be returned
Yeah, cheers Birch. As if there isn't enough mud in the water already, without you adding to it. I've never seen ThaiCanary on any menus, but they do a fine Tom kha kai down at Lombok in Herne Hill
Hi guys Norwich fan here. I must admit to not seeing him at all live either so my opinion could be worthless but from seeing on tv and hearing what Cardiff fans say he was very good at the beginning of last year (scoring for fun and the England call up too) but after that call up he wasn't so prolific. I know goals aren't everything but apparently his attitude stinks and I think the England game maybe went to his head a bit which affected his performances. For a freebie then yes worth a go and at worst could be back up for another striker you got in but if his wage demands are big then I wouldn't personally want him at Norwich. There seems to be a lot of talk about strikers at the moment but they are either well overpriced or unproven at prem level which is what Norwich and Swans have had to go for. Hopefully will work out....are you still in for CMS?
