Oh no. Maybe this was done before the FA said NO and Allam was just assuming he would get his way. What happens now then as there is no such club as Hull Tigers FC.
Some PA at The FA Headquarters will get to send a quick reprimand out....Winners not allowed to defend their cup from the previous season, that would be the most almighty PR cock up for Allam ever!
What an idiot. The global recognition with the name Hull City AFC in an FA Cup final and these idiots still try to press on with the name change. They are mentalists, no doubt about it, nothing we could do this season could have done more to enhance our global name and recognition than getting to an FA Cup final. The pursuit of this name change is just embarrassing, for them.
I'm gonna chuck a cow-pat frisbee at Allam when the open top victory parade bus passes through Beverley Westwood.
Maybe this is all a genius plan to alleviate a packed schedule if we do well in the Europa League next season, a bit like United missing the FA Cup to compete in the Club World Cup. Or, more likely, the wild flailing of a sad old man who can't be take no for an answer
Its a bit of a catch twenty two for both the club and the FA though isn't it. The application had to be in before April 1st and the FA Council sat on the 9th. What could the club do other than make the application in the name that they have applied to play under next season? FA had to accept the FA Cup application as it had not formally rejected the name change. Personally I do not think there is anything to worry about and this is just a case of the administration of the FA cup not catching up with the FA Council. It will be sorted out now it is public.
Or if they say the club can't enter, we'll just get 18 lads together and play in the third round under the guise of Hull Tigers FC. Of course, finding 18 lads to play in a shirt that says Hull Tigers FC on it will prove nigh on impossible...
I agree that it's quite possible that the application went in before the name change was rejected, but I'll be happier when the FA confirm this and amend their list.
Job's a good 'un... The FA ‏@FA @RichardRooker The final list of clubs accepted into #FACup for 2014-15 will be published in July, which will be updated from that document.
I don't think there's anything to worry about as such; but surely the normal procedure should be to apply in your currently legal name and then, should some ****ing imbecile allow a name-change, make appropriate changes when legally possible - not the other way around. It's simply another example of the snide and duplicitous nature of the old twat.
Its simply the way the FA is run. It won't matter in the long run, it isn't the definitive list, it will be changed. I do worry though, if Dr Allam does drop the name change, what some of you will have to get all narky about.
