    Hi all,

I am a Postgraduate Student at Northumbria University. In my studies, I have found theories of the home advantage to be particularly interesting. More specifically, identifying the causes of home advantage perceived by fans and players is of importance to me and is the topic of my Postgraduate Thesis Project. I was wondering if it was possible for any of you to help me with my Thesis Project by completing a short questionnaire I have designed?

The questionnaire itself will comprise of various questions with regards to the causes of the home advantage and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Questions will assess fans's attitudes towards the home advantage and therefore will not consist of any questions that will cause any discomfort or embarrassment. Confidentiality will be held for those who complete the questionnaire, and more information concerning confidentiality and questions about the study itself will be available through the link.

    Thanks very much in advance!

Why don't you and your student friends stop wasting mine and other tax payers money with **** like this .
Get off your arses and get a job, or study something that will benefit the country like engineering .
I'm just about sick and tired of parasites like you leeching money from the rest of us.

Its not like we are crippling ourselves with debt just to get an education is it?

Its a sad state of affairs when people get criticised for wanting an education. In a whole host of other countries, university education is free, as in totally free including monthly grants to cover living costs. And you know what, those countries who invest in education tend to do a damn sight better than Britain.

What I'm saying is that you should study something worthwhile instead of taking the easy options.

There are some joke courses around for sure but there still needs to be far more investment in higher education.

And as this guy is post-grad, I'm guessing it will be entirely self funded.

I have done it because I am sure it helps get your work finished but these surveys are a complete waste of time. Given time you to argue for each answer being correct ? Anyway good luck with your studies !

I filled in this survey already ...

    1. Character no. 1 was Baz, who is a keen fan who often posts here

    2. As my mother, who watches games at home sometimes with her nephew

    3. An 11 year old girl, Amy; she hates football and is very moody

    4. Ian, 12, is the arch nemisis of Amy and he teases her ruthlessly. Ian has never been to a football match and is too cool for sport.

    5. And finally Mabel, 34; she is in an asylum, has frequent hallucinations and can no longer define reality. She was beaten as a child, but does have memories of been taken to Roker Park by her uncle, also an alcoholic.

Note: Mabel possibly gave the most useful answers, but that might depend on when she last took her meds. Baz had trouble understanding some of the questions and gave up less than half way through. None of the others have been to a football game, my mother simply got a bit flustereed and rang my cousin John, she always does. As for the tweenies, they just tried to blag it.

Is it such a crime to attempt an education to attempt to better ourselves?

Depending on what course you do getting a high grade is no mean feat, granted some are there for the boozy lifestyle and those are the ones that should be turfed immediately.

By categorising us as 'leeching money from the rest of us' you're putting us in a bracket with people who genuinely want to sit on their arse all day and claim benefits and do nothing with their lives.

Rather harsh. It'd be interesting to know what you do for a living to have such a high and mighty attitude to students that don't study engineering!!

Either fill the questionnaire in or don't. Why have a go at someone for going to university.
