    So Pardew thinks 3-4 new signings over the summer will make us all forgive and forget. This figure includes the Cabaye replacement that should have been signed 6 months ago and replacements for outgoing loan players such as Remy and De Jong, as well as out of contracts such as Shola and Gosling. So that's already 5 out and possibly only 3 in. Debuchy, Colo, Krul, Santon and Taylor are 5 other likely departees... Can only hope that if we sell any of these non-certain leavers then we replace in addition to Pardew's quoted 3-4, but how likely is it really? Numerically we are probably going to be starting next season even weaker than this one. It's going to be a great transfer window, no doubt about it.

    So basically he is managing our expectations so that we aren't surprised when our squad shrinks yet again.
    He will then trot out all the crap about 'couldn't get over the line' etc....

    He doesn't need to think about that yet - he's here for 6 more years... MA and Charnley - happy with 10th (17th will do), year on year.

    Marshall, Caulker, Colback, Will Hughes, Callum McMannaman, Ings, Rhodes and one of Grenier or Cabella.

    Eight players, mainly British and all would be interested in joining us. Would probably cost around 50m to attain them all.
