Signed RichCawleySLP Richard Cawley #cafc complete deal for former #afc defender Cedric Evina - our back-page exclusive last Friday. Two-year deal.
Who needs a Racon? We've got a Frimpong, who needs a Racon, we've got a Frimpong. Saying that, a permanent deal seems unlikely for him, on his Twitter he stated that he would never leave Arsenal. Although I do remember a certain Jose Semedo say something to that effect recently...
Youga is reporting back for pre season training to see if he can get properly fit and then the club will make a decision. Maybe a pay as you play deal. Evina can play anywhere on the left hand side. The sort of utility player that Curbs used to sign.
He played well for us up in Oldham. I'm sure he'll make a difference for you lot this season. All the best to him, we were sad to see him go. See you at BP
Hi Charlton fans. Cedric Evina is a very decent player. Oldhams young player of the year last season I believe. Lots of pace, probably a better winger than a left back. I think you have made a very good signing there. Emmanuel Frimpong to Charlton? Not going to happen. The quotes attributed to him in a local paper were BS. It claimed he was unhappy at not being in the first team, yet he was pencilled in for the squad for the opening day game v Liverpool before doing his knee ligaments, and has not been fit since. I think the link has a lot to do with Alex Song, and the success of his loan to the Valley. But Charlton were, of course, a Premiership side back then. We have a fair number of youngsters that will be available on loan that would be right for Charlton, Frimmers is not one of them.
that is one quality username.. thanks for the cogent appraisal of Cedric. i hope he becomes Cedric The Entertainer (RIP) with marauding runs from fullback. dobt ve too sure about not becoming a LB, remember Powell is his manager and that fella was sheer class, maximising his ability and one of the best ive ever seen in one on ones. i can only remember him getting skinned 3-4 times in about 6 years. Cedric has already stated that was an attraction to the move, although he isnt really going to say otherwise about his new gaffer got any decent Centre Backs? we could do with a good young ùn
Ansah and Frimpong have been long term targets. Wouldn't be surprised if both happened- Manu knows we have been interested in him for around 18months and has conceded to other youngsters at Arsenal that a loan would be important as he hasn't even had that opportunity yet, let alone play for the Arsenal first team. Will it happen? I don't know. But Frimpong clearly is open to the idea, make no mistake about it.
At Arsenal? Kyle Bartley, but he will probably go to Rangers. Ignasi Miquel, but he will probably go abroad. Apart from that they are pretty average. I am sure Gavin Hoyte, Saed Hajrovic and Daniel Boateng will be available for loan, but I wouldn't recommend them!! We released Tom Cruise, who can play CB and is a decent player, would be worth a gamble.
Would have thought Zak Ansah would be about a year away from going out on loan (possibly something that will be more likely in the second half of the season) as he hasn't played for our reserves yet. We have players like Luke Freeman, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Niccy Yennaris, Chuks Aneke and Rhys Murphy who are very likely to go on loan,a nd League 1 would probably be the best place for them.
We put in our program notes at the end of last season that Zak would be joining- Andy and CP are BFF's or something. He was mentioned to join on loan last January
I did hear rumurs, but for a youngster who hasn't stepped up to reserve team level yet it seems a big risk. I hope it happens, would be a great introduction to first team football, and with Powell as boss he will be treated well. Plus, living in Dartford, it is only a short journey for me to go and watch him a couple of times!
I guess the loan would be for a backup. He gets minutes here and there, does well he could possibly break in to the team. Sounds like a favour to AA more than anything though.
We had Cedric Evina (ceders) last season, he is a very very good player, plenty of pace and very good on the ball, to be honest im suprised he didnt go to a championship side, he is a good hard working honest lad who love Oldham but didnt settle up here, true to his word he said he was only leaving to move down to London and has been very emotional about his own departure, he will get a great reception here, great bit of business by u guys have to say Good luck ceders
