Man United are releasing three of their youth team players and Jack's one of them. I'm a bit surprised, I thought he was doing really well and he's just had an excellent loan spell at Hartlepool.
He's chipped in with a few goals for Hartlepool. I know it'd be sentimental, maybe offer him a trial. If he wants to come here after the way they treat his dad.
If Allam agreed the signing, it would be for an ulterior motive. I am surprised Hartlepool released him though, maybe he didn't want to sign for them ?
Mainly driven by sentiment, but I’d really like us to sign him. Utd saw him as a fantastic prospect – not sure what happened.
Not just him but a i think a lot of these young kids should stay with a small club and get more opportunities to develop (i dont include us in that unfortunately!!) rather than be hoovered up by Man U Chelsea etc. They have all the top prospects it seems yet how many actually make it?
how many of those playing in the Youth Final.....Ful v Chel....Will actually make it to the very top? ....2 or 3 at a guess. Barmby was sensational for Man Utd in the Milk Cup a few years ago but it would seem as if he has stalled...Not the first nor the last.
Well I don't think he will be short of offers, he could very well end up here again, after all we are looking to get a better standard of youth in. If Conor Henderson can make a first team appearance, Jack could.
It would certainly test Nick's resolve about watching us if Jack did come here!! Highly unlikely. I imagine Nick will be sounding Daws out at Scunny
Scunny might be a realistic option. League One clubs would seem a natural fit, given how he got on at the Monkey Hangers.
He already has a number of clubs after him, and we are not one of them. With the Man U situation as it is, it would be almost a certainty he wouldn't get close to the first team next year so it made sense for all sides for him to be released.
Another offspring of an ex-player making a name for himself is James Marwood at Gateshead. 19 goals this season, including a brace in the Conference playoff semis.
Zero chance of young Jack coming to City after the way his dad was tret by the current owners. Pressured into becoming manager then spat out when he dared stand up for his principles, then silenced by bullies and their threats.
Well that and the slightly more important element of not being good enough, at least not yet. Just because his dad was good at football doesn't automatically mean he will be. If Nick does act on his son's behalf and wants the best for him, lets hope he's not another FC & dad in the making.
Another attention-seeking post from you unfortunately. Barmby was manager for one transfer window and with limited funds. He was given less than six months as manager. We played some sparkling football under him. Three or four transfer windows is a reasonable amount of time to give a manager, especially a new one. The way in which Barmby has been silenced legally by the current owners tells you all you need to know about the matter.
He is definitely good enough for our extremely poor academy although he probably wouldn't come here as it's so bad, look at Harry Cardwell leaving for Reading.
Academy?? He's twenty next season. He needs to be playing in league 1/2 or the championship and playing regularly.
