Morning everyone from a hot and sunny Southampton, How are we? So, the 2013 / 14 season is over. Thank goodness!!! For me what I'll remember about the season is the last day of the January transfer window when we supposedly signed 4 or 5 players (which didn't materialise), McDermott got sacked, then reinstated and Haigh left, then came back. That was a lot to take in, in 24 hours. Our last game of the season ended up in a draw, at home against bogey team Derby, albeit they had many of their second string, saving their best for the plays offs. Well done to Smith. He seems to take every opportunity to can to impress. If you think about how many times he has started from the bench, but has still managed to bang in double figure goals, surely, he has to be our buy of the season, plus, he's only going to get better. If we were going to put a price tag on him now, it much be 1m +. What is everyone up to today? I've got builders coming round to fit new flooring.
Renewing two season tickets, sweating on a Liverpool win to pay for one of them. Estate agent not working a bank holiday? Business must be booming. Morning everyone.
Mornin all. Off to work, fiitting in a store that's closed for the . Unlike waccoe, I'm praying for a palace win as I detest victim pool. As for the season gone by, forget it
Morning all. I was quite impressed on Saturday. How we didn't score in the first half was beyond me. Great finish from Smith and Brown was superb. He scared Will Hughes to death and kept him quiet. Deffo give Brown another year as a low paid squad player. But nows the time to start the clearcut and begin rebuilding as soon as. Day off today. Gardening, then hopefully a bit if cycling later.....
Morning all in Yarmouth at the moment enjoying a short break also glad the season is over but looking forward to next with more optimism than I have had in a while. Just hoping that Cellino delivers on some of his promises and we don't find him full of excuses. Can't see much happening until after June when contracts expire, if we still have McD by the end of the week does that mean we have him for next season?
Morning All Waiting to see if I'm at work tonight. Hopefully I won't be. Got the kid for the day Glad to see the back of this season after the soap opera of the second half. Hopefully we're going to get a great set of young players this summer and we can start making our way towards promotion.
Morning all ... so many reasons to be optimistic, at least we now have an owner who wants to play in the Prem and doesn't need to take a penny out of the club ... Leeds can be a top club again if the club is allowed to keep its revenue, so we're looking good at long last "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
Morning all I don't expect much activity in the summer regarding any quality players coming in to the club. If you look at what MC is saying and have been saying before it does not sound any different than previous owners we have had He has said that it is not his money, it is the family’s money and that he could not do what he wanted with it.
Afternoon all, Season ticket bought. Last season is over (thank God!). New season starts now. Onwards & upwards! MOT!!!!
Spot on Jock. Still reckon it will be a busy summer with plenty of people leaving and a few coming in. I'll start the bidding at 3 newbies
Wouldn't be surprised/too concerned if McDermott is still here at the start of next season. Cellino's already said he wants a coach, so it sounds like McDermott will have very little input in terms of signings. If it's to be believed that Cellino told McDermott to play Murphy further forward vs Blackpool, then it's even possible that McDermott's tactics will be under the scrutiny of Cellino too. As long as the coaching improves (or the standard of the playing squad does), I wouldn't be fussed if he stayed.
I note that Cellino didn't pass comment on Murphy's play on Saturday. Does he only take credit when players have an unusually good game?
