Norwich Cardiff and Fulham taking legal action re non deduction of points for fielding non eligible player apparently. Could be an interesting closed season if that runs...... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/03/sunderland-face-legal-fight-points-deduction
I agree, unless Norwich/West Brom pull out all the stops and we end up in a scrap for the last place.........then i want 20 points off 'em!!!!
The only points deduction I can think of in Premier League history was Boro in 1997. They refused to play a game because of injuries and got deducted 3 points. I really can't see anything coming of it.
As far as I can work out, the precedent is to lose any points gained to a max of three, but that's for worse than this, which is effectively a minor admin error. He was their player, went abroad and when he came back, they should have got clearance but didn't realise. It seems an easy and genuine mstake. Had they applied, they'd have got the clearance, so nothing really gained anyway. Plus, they've been fined (twice I believe) It's hardly a Tevez situation. The three clubs getting relegated aren't down because of Ji, they're down because they didn't do enough over the season. Just read a fair point on the Sunderland board that tickled me..."So if we lose the point we got at Soton, do Fulham have to give us the three they got against us?"
Are SAFC an almost decent side whose players are chronically fickle and half-hearted? Or a **** side who have somehow pulled out a string of incredible performances and results when it mattered? I think agent Altidore has been rumbled.
