Another day of top quality racing.

In the Guineas I am going for Inktimal with a couple if each way bets on Lucky Lara and Joyeuse.

Integral is the obvious bet of the day and I also like urban dance in the opener.
At Salisbury my best bet of the day is Albert Bridge.

Ballydoyle must be finding it more and more difficult to find names for all their horses - their 2 entries in the Cheshire Oaks are named (rather uninspiringly) Marvellous and Terrific :emoticon-0112-wonde :emoticon-0136-giggl Sounds like Jim Bowen has been helping them pick names. Wouldn't be surprised to see "Lovely", "Smashing", "Super" and "Bully" running soon.

Ton-up Monty
Club legend Monty Seymour reaches a special milestone on Sunday, May 11. To celebrate his 100th birthday that day, all friends including WWEPA members, are invited to a centenary party at the Vere Suite. The Wanderers’ President’s long association with the club goes back to just after World War 1 so he deserves a good turn-out. A small entrance fee will help cover the costs of snacks and drinks. It all kicks off at 4.15pm. But prepare for a late night - Monty was still on the dance floor at midnight at our annual dinner in November!

Mighty Yar needs at least 1m6f IMO, will be tapped for toe if running in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot. Could turn out to be a Cup horse next season, even the Ascot Gold Cup. But maybe the Ebor this season?

Following the discussion on Channel 4, farewell to Quevega and in particular the old boy Sizing Europe, great to see the 12yo end his career on a high. Should Willie Mullins retire Hurricane Fly? Think his best days are behind him, can't see him winning a third Champion Hurdle.

I have placed 3 bets in the later races at Newmarket and 1 at Salisbury for a yankee and singles on the first two named.

Newmarket
3.10 Kimbrella 12-1 EW
This horse showed marked improvement last time out to win very cosily. I do not feel Nicholls sends horses for such races at Headquarters without a chance.

3.50 Miss France 11-2
I think that we can forget her flop in the trial as Fabre knows very well when the day is that matters. The race is very open and this horse must be in the shake up.

5.00 Taghriooda evens
I think this one will go on to better things, she is 10-1 for the Oaks and for that price to not look silly she must win this well. Even money could be huge value.

Salisbury
4.35 Tea Leaf 3-1
Ran a good race last time and with Jim Crowley not able to get down to 8 stone Ralph Beckett legs up Jimmy Quinn, great chance.

Just saw the Punchestown highlights. What a lovely sight seeing Ruby stroking Faugheen down the neck some way from the finish.

Today, the French winner, Esoterique looked a bit lame after the race. I'd be a bit wary of backing her again on fast going.
