http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/garry-monk-offered-two-year-deal-7070341 There it is, and I thought the day could only get better .. can't even enjoy Cardiff being relegated.
Oh well, time to get behind him if true. Hope we are bringing in a director of football to help him. Meh.
"... following his efforts in picking up the pieces left behind by Laudrup and helping steer the side to safety ..." What ****ing planet are these people on ...
He will not be manager for long, but he has saved our season, and he will be the cheap option that will help cushion the Laudrup payoff! And that is it in a nutshell and it will suit Huw jenkins down to the ground, now to see how many rats jump ship!................
Well we know where we are starting from early for a change in the way of a manager .Garry will have a " Crash Course " of expierence in 3 different competions including Europa . My only fear with Monk for next season is if there is an exodus of players in the summer , he won't know how to build one . AMBITION is not in the Swansea handbook anymore , but PRACTICALITY is back with a vengence .
Considering "ambition" nearly meant we were joining Cardiff in the second tier next season I am happy to go back to "practicality".
This is for the board!!
Are the bookies offering odds on relegation for next season yet .... that will tell you everything you need to know. They (the Board) didn't even have the balls or the smarts to do a search and have Monk compete against others for vision, competence, qualifications, etc. Doesn't the Club deserve that much, that before a rookie manager is contracted on a full time basis, that the Board at least do some level of search, if only for the reason that it at least gives Monk legitimacy and the rest of us confidence that he was the best person available for the job. The exodus, as others have called it, is not about club loyalty it is about a professional's desire to work: a) for a manager / coach from whom they can learn; b) for a club that has some semblance of a future - no player wants to play for a club with limited resources and in a dog fight to stay up if they can help it. Players will give a vote of confidence by either staying or moving on, but it will be a legitimate referendum by players on the inside that know stuff we don't know.
Lot of people have it written in stone that we were doomed if Monk hadn't taken over...... foolishly I might add. A great season was stunted imo .... see , I have an OPINION too project . That being said , Monk is our manager , I'm not against it and look forward to a regular 4th season in the Premier instead of a gruelling 54 game shedule this season produced.
Dylan's words are proving prophetic .... the graveyard of ambition .... from Laudrup and Cup victories and Europa league, to Monk, no cups, no win .... at least no f**king Lita. Our ambition appears to be to join Cardiff. At least it will cut travel costs for one game a year. Where is the head stone going to be mounted. Where will the flowers to be laid. When is the memorial service. Why does it have to be this way.
Too late for me tickets and coach travel paid for , I wonder if I can get a refund , the thought of travelling at 5 in the morning to watch a similar performance as todays doesn't exactly fill me with excited anticipation .
Lots of people have opinions Roof, but lots of people talk runny bullshit and as such their opinion should be treated as that same runny bullshit. Your man Laudrup was taking us down and all who didn't support Swansea were even saying it. You are a minority. It matters not that there are others here that agree with you because there are countless articles from reputable sources, reputable Roofjack, reputable, that say the Dane was relegating our club.
Such as? If there are that many ("countless") then you won't mind reproducing a few will you? The "reputable" ones will do. Then you CLAIM: "and ALL (my caps) who didn't support Swansea were even saying it". I'm looking forward to your reply because I can blow your last sentence out of the water before you even start. Try Gary Lineker and Ian Wright for starters. Anyway, over to you.
