Well, another really really **** match, but I was pleased with the fans. Best atmosphere in a while, even if it was mostly sour.

The banners and the fans vs police moments were entertaining.

Cardiff looked like an already relegated side and they were still close to getting a couple of goals back...

    Ratings -

Krul - 5 - A couple of good saves, unconvincing handling though. Cardiff should have taken the lead.

Debuchy - 7 - Great defending and lethal in our attacks sometimes.

Willo - 6 - Dealt with Cardiffs threat's pretty well.

Colo - 7 - Glimpses of the old Colo today. Neat work and good defending.

Dummett - 4 - Not the best defensively and **** crossing and freekicks.

Haidara - 6 - Easily our best LB defensively. Should be starting.

Anita - 6 - Good work rate and defending.

Sissoko - 6 - Good work rate, decent attacking, good assist, **** shooting.

Gouff - 5 - I don't know what position he was in today, but he couldn't really effect the game significantly. Good graft.

Tiote - 6 - Good shift, nothing great, but good work and defending.

Shola - 6 - Good headed goal and some decent work.

Remy - 7.5 - A goal and an assist. Good on the ball, good distribution from the LW.

    Gosling - n/a - Worked hard.

MOTM - Remy - He made the difference really. The only quality came from him and Debuchy. They looked different class to the rest.

We looked like the away team for periods of the game and score I thought didn't do Cardiff justice. I know we hit the post on 4 occasions but there again Cardiff could have had a few as well and Krul had to make some good saves and had Colo not got that one off the line it could have turned out so different.

According to BBC Newcastle and its resident sycophant, John Anderson, Rémy was totally uninterested in the game.

I thought we were pretty poor. The scoreline was flattering - we could have scored more but equally I don't know how Cardiff contrived not to get 2 or 3 themselves. This was a battle between two of the worst teams in the league... Says it all.

Poor for me and a very flattering scoreline. Did not enjoy seeing Anita, Remy, Sissoko and Goufran all bottle tackles today. Wasn't surprised but it kind of summed up the attitudes. I wouldn't put them all in that boat. Some like Colo, young Haidara (despite looking pretty average), Willo and Tiote got stuck into the task. I didn't think as much as Solksjaer did of Cardiff though. They had a very good spell 2nd half but overall I can see why they went down.

You did the league a big favour today and put the final nail in the Cardiff coffin.

Wel done and thanks on behalf of the Premier League.

Tash.. it's great to have you back!!!

I'd say Sissoko was MOTM though... he was an utter beast..

Sissoko had a good game, no doubt. Just don't like seeing players pull out of tackles, especially when they're built like a tank

Head and shoulders above everyone on our team yesterday, shame he's not more consistent. Also have to say thought Bellamy made a difference when he came on.

Am sorry BUT it's our job. Main priority is for Newcastle to win not who goes down.
