People who know me well class me as eternal optimist when it comes to SAFC. However, even I had resigned myself to watching Championship football after the West Ham and Spurs results, and could not even contemplate the amazing run of results we have just witnessed.. What an amazing roller-coaster season this has turned out to be..
Im 29, but guaranteed my doctor will be wanting get me on some pills for my heart - its been aged by decades this season!
the best season of my lifetime, we all knew when we saw the fixtures we were gonna have it hard and we did but we also knew that the second half would give us a chance, no-one saw 10 points from these last 4 fixtures though
I've been sat on this forum for about 2 hours and still cant put into words how i'm feeling! I honestly don't know what to say, apart from 'Chelsea win please!!!'
I'm probably more the optimist than RAW and even I had semi resigned my self to Fizzy Pop football next season but what a ride what a season beat the Mags twice a Cup Final and away wins against Chelski and Manure to make us believe again.
Same here..It wouldn't have mattered to me though..would still not have missed a game even if we did get relegated..
Apart from winning the cup. This just might be my favourite season the best season of my lifetime, we all knew when we saw the fixtures we were gonna have it hard and we did but we also knew that the second half would give us a chance, no-one saw 10 points from these last 4 fixtures though With so many ups and downs together with the two cup runs and wembley appearance this just maybe the best season.
i did not renew my season card because i thought we were down after the Everton result, but will renew WHEN we stay up !. Liecester, Burnley and maybe Derby to go to next season.
I don't have a season card but was going to get one next season no matter what even more determined now to get one .
The hard work comes this off season. Hopefully we will be buying British with some foreign imports. If we stay up, this off season will make or break us. If we can get Colback on a contract, Wickham to sign a new one, ensure our best players are still here, and bring in more than wont need time to adapt. I still have my fingers crossed with Scocco, he's too good to not succeed here. This has been the most memorable season so far for me, and i've been supporting the lads for 16 years. Sure, the 19 and 15 point seasons were memorable for all the wrong reasons, and the 7th placed finishes under Reidy, but this one has been one of such contrasts - it is hard to not put it at the top. Sure, just surviving isnt good, but a cup finish. 6 points of the Mags, beating Everton, City, Utd, ending Mourinho's 78 home game run, 3 managers, 2 DoF, Wickham scoring, Johnson showing the form we all knew he had, losing Mig but gaining Mannone.. too much to put into words how this season has unfolded. Plus it is the tightest league in yeaaaaaars. At both ends of the table.
As I said earlier the realist in me had us down and buried (no one could see anything else). The optimist had me clinging to what would be a miracle (years of being a Sunderland fan) and the pessimist in me still won't believe until it's a certainty. WOULD YOU HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY! HaWAyTheLads.
my thoughts exactly, i'm gobsmacked tbh, looking to the future as you have i think we need to sell fletcher at a loss for a start and then who knows, gaicc and scocco could be massive for us, and bridcutt, and connor, we already have a world class keeper
The best laugh I've ever had on a football forum is ............ reading through the Mag 'when Sunderland go down' thread How to shoot yersel in the foot, reload and shoot yersel in the other foot, what a pack of ****ers. They must be hanging their sad heads in shame tonight
