Taken from this site: http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/orsquotoole-i-can-do-better-than-this-267375.html Rovers manager John Ward, whoâd worked with OâToole at Colchester, knew what he was getting â and when he signed on permanently last summer, the player thought he knew too, only to slowly discover that the dream move was to become a nightmare. With 13 league goals to his name in a team battling relegation, OâToole was named in the PFA League Two team of the Year last weekend â one of only three Irishmen to make it on the peer-selected XIs alongside Andy Reid and Seamus Coleman â but still, relegation beckons. O'Toole said: âI scored 15 times in a struggling team, but if I had maybe a better team around me, I could have scored many more, but you never know. I just want to play at a higher level and play with better players â because that brings out the best in me. And I want to play in nicer stadiums... Torquay or Accrington away on a Tuesday is not really what you look forward to. The manger signed me because I worked with him before and he knows I donât want to play at this level. I donât want to be at this level any longer than I need to be. I wouldnât have signed if I didnât think we were capable of being promoted. But every time we looked like weâd get going, weâd get setbacks and losses. I want to play higher, but right now itâs about getting this club safe â nobody wants this on. So I have to concentrate on that.â Notice him saying "if I had a better team around me I could have scored many more" Notice him saying "I just want to play at a higher level and with better players" I think its safe to say that today will be the last time we will see him in a Rovers shirt and personally I cant wait until he ****s off. Yes thanks for your goals which may keep us up but your attitude towards the club and your fellow team mates stinks and I cant wait until you leave this club. Your high wages will be used on a couple of players who do want to be in a Rovers shirt. Rant over. I planned to give the team 100% today as always in this massive game. But today I will only be giving my all as the 12th man to everyone BUT O'Toole. He has certainly wound me up now and is the final straw for me. Time to leave in a minute to get to the mem early. Hopefully I will be returning home later still a football league team.
What he said is most likely true, but shockingly unprofessional to actually come out and say. Safe to assume he will not be out drinking anywhere in Bristol for a while!! Out of interest how many chances did he miss against Mansfield? Don't suppose it will occur to him that he didn't do his bit yesterday.
2 tweets from o'toole just now..... "Mortified by the article. He spun a very negative piece. Funny how he left out all the positive things I said. Came out completely wrong...." "Apologies to anyone I've offended. Never meant to disrespect the club or fans. Timing was shocking. Absolutely gutted about Saturday" http://oi57.tinypic.com/whgupg.jpg please log in to view this image
