The space out wide is unbelievable. Drop Vic in between Lovren and Fonte, Lambert on for Davis, push Clyne and Shaw further on and chuck a ****load of crosses in.
12 attempts and only one on target. No outlet on the left hand side. So many times we've picked up possession in midfield on a possible counter and we have to hold up play and wait for poor Shaw to catch up. Think we're going to need to see Lambert at some point if we're to stand any real chance of scoring. Good effort from Gallagher. Definitely needs a solid run of starts in the u21s next season to learn how to lead the line
We're playing well. It was always going to be hard to create chances without two of our best strikers (Jay, Rickie). If Rickie enters, i reckon we'll win. Other than that, i'm happy with the way we're holding Swansea at bay. And i think Davis had better games.
The commentators on the NBC stream are bashing Swansea for playing so narrow and allowing us so much space out wide, while neglecting the fact that this strategy has rendered us hopeless at actually getting the ball to one of our players in the box. We've seen Morgan a couple of times deciding not to play Clyne in down the right, and opting for a less predictable route to try and drag their defenders around a bit more. I'd bring on Lambert for Davis or Cork, but have him drop deep and wide rather than floating around in the box trying to get on the end of crosses.
Works for me but I'm guessing Lambert isn't fully fit or he'd have started. Maybe Guly can do it.................
Lambert can play a Le Tissier role, just walking around, receiving the ball and either attempting a shot or a key pass. No need to work. But yeah, Guly could give it a go.
You signed Whittingham, we signed pocket chino, pocket chino, pocket chino. I don't know what it means but I think it's catchy.
