30 years as a police officer. Left because they get rid of all the old gits or could that be they get rid of anyone with a bit of experience.
Well I left my job of 13 years because of unappreciation and a brilliant opportunity , the boss thought I'd stay forever and kept looking past me . He changed totally when I gave him my notice but it was to late . So bosses , if you have a good man dont rock the boat !!
IT specialist. You can't really judge on how long you are with a company as contracts runout and another takes over, been on same account through 3 companies for 13 years... if that makes sense.
I'm a Danish-language/history teacher in 8/9 class at my current school for about 10 years. I've been a teacher for 15 years. Before becoming a teacher i was a professional backgammon player for 6-8 years. I failed my Medical for the army as à answered yes to ALL the questions in the questionaire.
I'm surprised you failed the medical by answering yes , co-operation is the key to well drilled compliant unit of men .
Been self employed most of my working life apart from a period of two years in this country and two years abroad, all in the professional services sector. Owned two restaurants abroad (9 years) as well but have always been a writer - novels, football articles/reports for various local newspapers (money is CRAP!!!) and comedy sketches for television. Now retired, I concentrate full time on writing and proof reading for selected authors. I also advise/mentor aspiring authors and give the odd lecture to creative writing groups etc: eg library authorities. Enjoy a regular gig in France from people who "discovered" one of my novels and they invite me over from time to time to chat with existing and new members of the writer's circle that they created. Made many friends in the area, a mixture of ex pats and locals. Always a welcome and a place to stay when I go on holiday there which is very nice. PS: Mikra, I just LOVE backgammon - absolute rubbish at it but I really enjoy the game.
Better still employ pretend policemen, give them an important title like PCSO and pay them peanuts. Better still employ pretend teachers, call them teaching assistants and pay them peanuts too. You get my drift. All part of successive governments' plans to de-professionalise society. Met a guy on hols last year whose job was designing board games. He did the Simpsons one apparently. Now that's a great job imo.
finished uni, worked in insurance sales for a year and a half saving up. Quit my job, travelled south-east Asia for 3 months, got to Australia 4 days ago and am about to go work on a farm tomorrow (which you have to do for 3 months in order to get a second year visa). Hopefully going to get residency here after that then eventually start my own business.
