Didn't mean it in a way that suggested he was worth supporting, by the way. I mean it symbolically. He's lazy, arrogant, and has never done anything worthy of his reputation. However, what he represents is David Ginola, if you get my meaning. He embodies Laurent Robert. I am categorically not suggesting he's fit to lace either's boots, but to a fan he is the anti-Pards and that is why he's being supported.

There will be no 'lap of honour' but instead the players and coaching staff will applaud the fans from the centre circle. I think they know they would get a torrent of abuse if they went around the touchline - well they would if everyone hadn't have walked out on 69 minutes.

The majority of our players are not good enough. It's not their fault and has nothing to do with effort. Blame Ashley.

It's not so long ago we fans were singing the praises of our scouting team for getting us quality signings. Ashley bought them so surely the blame has to be placed at Pardew's door for totally wasting their talent.
Our coaching team must be the worst in the PL as well.

Let's hope that Pardew gets Fanned today.

Exactly. Thus I would be betraying myself with hope. But if we had some kind of fantasy transfer window and signed some of the players we have been linked with - Grenier, Cabella, Lacazette - and a handful of quality young British players for example... I would not be able to help it.

A neighbour who isn't interested in football at all told me he'd got 400/1 for Cardiff to win 4-0.

Can't see it happening but it'll be a nice little touch if it comes up.

Of course if I was to back Cardiff to win it would mean at least a draw for us.

    Mark Lawrenson Football analyst.

"Newcastle manager Alan Pardew does not have to worry about relegation but he is another man who is in real danger of losing his job. After six straight defeats, the Magpies fans have turned against him in a big way.

"Once the supporters do that, it is not long until the owner and chief executive come under pressure to do something about it, and they usually react. That reaction is not to hand the manager a new eight-year contract either."

At last Lawrenson has said something that makes sense.

what happened to playing 4-3-3?? The formation that got us to 5th in the league? The formation that doesn't depend on creativity from Tioté and Anita?

And why is Willo still in the team? I'm glad he came good this season, but we've been leaking goals for months now. Surly Saylor deserves anther chance now?

    Why Why Why?

Shola starts his (hopefully) final home game.

Starting 11: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Dummett; Sissoko, Anita, Tiote, Gouffran; Shola Ameobi, Remy.

Subs: Elliot, Yanga-Mbiwa, Haidara, S.Taylor, Gosling, Armstrong, de Jong.

He's just earned himself that new contract Pardew has been pushing for.

    Redknapp of course.

Shola needs to stop scoring. If he truly loves the club he'll stop right now. Otherwise there's a horrible risk of him being offered a new contract.
