He wont be moved by gestures of the heart, he will be moved by lack of profit.

    So I suggest -

    1. Not renew season tickets, instead just buy tickets for the individual games you want to attend. This way if he shows no interest in spending and helping the team progress, you can just not buy tickets anymore, and then when he does the right thing and starts handing the money over, and getting a proper manager in, then we can start buying tickets again.

    2. Don't buy merchandise, don't subscribe to NUFCtv or doing anything that will pump money into the club.

You can make arguments against this if you wish, but when you pruchase a season ticket or splashing hard earned cash on merchandise, you're making an investment. You pay the ridiculous amounts because you think it might be spent on players that will help the team win things.

If we're spending cash on tickets just to see our favourite players sold, 20-25+ half hearted performances a season, while sitting in mid table doing nothing, then why bother? You're not investing in anything but the profit of those in the board room.

If profits start to decline significantly, then Ashley will have to spend and the club will have to start communicating with the fans, because it's just not fair. Most fans who come are earning just above their means, and they get no explanations, no wonder from the owner, and are expected to just turn up to watch dross every week because the owner is happy as long as we're financially stable.

Things might get worse before they get better, but they will eventually get better if we do this. Unfortunately it's the only way I see a change.

I get where you are coming from Tash but in the overall scheme of things that will cost him what, £5m? The man is a triple billionaire and one of thr most stubborn businessmen there is. I honestly think he would not take a blind bit of notice as his cash reserves elsewhere are so massive.

But the fact that he's held on to the club means he still has some sort of financial gain to make from it. Either that or he's not had a great offer made, in which case he's stuck, and if we did what I suggested he'd be lumbered with a club that would decline in profits thanks to the fans actions, in which case the only thing we can do is make it mandatory that Ashley spend some money or lose cash in one of his investments.

He has the money, and all he'd had have to is spend 20% of the cash he'd lose with the boycotting, lack of merchandise and food/drink purchases.

We get behind the team quite often to no avail. The players have no respect for the puppet manager in charge, and the owner never says anything.

You've matured quite a bit Tash, are you still going to all the games?

Tash. We really need an end of season video from you. Id gladly chuck some cash into the mix as I know it costs.
You could make the Pardew excuses the topic.

Can't anyone just shoot Ashley? I know it's simplistic but it seems to have logic on its side.

NUFC is simply a vehicle for peddling his jumble sale shops.

People would need to stop shopping there and that simply ain't gonna happen !

I said from the outset that I wouldn't buy a top with WONGA on and I'm still using the Virgin Money top.

Of course it won't happen, and even if people stopped going in the Newcastle area, it wouldn't make the slightest bit difference. People who shop in SD do so because it's affordable.

People also forget it's not all cheap tat that he sells. There are plenty out there, quite happy to pay £100+ on jeans/trainers/t-shirts etc at his stores.

This week, USC have just opened up a flagship store on Oxford Street

The recent financial results show that the turnover for Match Day tickets / merchandise accounted for something like £27m of the overall turnover.

If that was to reduce by 25%, say 12,000 fans, pro rata that would amount to something like £6.5m reduction at best. Given that TV money has increased substantially in 13/14, a reduction in fans is unlikely to affect Ashley's thinking.

Aye, and I didn't cancel my direct debit so I couldn't cancel my season ticket. (I secretly didn't forget, I just don't have the heart to cancel it).

But If things stay the same way next season will be my last season.

....add into that the people who rarely get to games cos of work/money/etc but now have more of an opportunity to go to SJP at the last minute when circumstances permit, without it being sold out, and the amount he loses goes down even further. There will always be some people willing to fill some of those empty seats. The truth is that there is nothing we can do to force Ashley to spend or sell the club. It's his money and he'll do what he wants with it.

Won't make any difference and won't happen. Been discussed before and nothing has changed.

Ashley will spend as much or as little as he chooses. He will retain Pardew or sack him. Everything will be solely his decision based on his own personal reasoning. Fans just need to accept this and make a choice of what they do personally based on it. All this "we'll change it if we............" is bullshit. He isn't bothered and it will never be wholesale enough to even find out.

We've been talking about these things for 7 years, nothing has changed.

He will sell once the club has served it's purpose - Promoting Sports Direct to death.
