BBC Sport have just posted an article:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/wales/27258453

"I'm happy here. I'm enjoying everything, life here with my colleagues," Bony told BBC Sport Wales.

"I'm still here and have three years more on my contract with the club so if something happened the club would have to decide. They have the last word."

Such a relief to hear that as long as the board have the sense to reject any bids for Bony that he's not going to force a move!

Would love to see a nippy striker feeding and feeding off him next season.

I am sure I heard on the radio today possibly using quotes from the same interview that he is unsure who his gaffer will be next season, which I presume relates to whether he knows if Monk will be given the job , but it could also be a hint as to what offers may come in post world cup .

Forget that last message. I have just read TLF's comment on another thread with regards the interview on the radio

If he's feeling that happy we need to give him an improved contract ASAP with a huge buy out clause <ok>

I've been pretty pissed off at reports HJ was 'furious' with signing Bony what with the fee and the wages he's on. IF that's true than he'll be sold if a mega offer comes in. I get the feeling HJ just won't be able to help himself. Not having a dig but that's the way he is, because at times it seems money in the bank and huge profits seem to matter more than quality on the pitch. We'll be offloading our highest earner too. No brainer for HJ I'm afraid.

Hope I'm very wrong.

Lets face it , the Bony 12 million £ deal was a one off that dozens of " Big Money " teams miraculously overlooked . I certainly understand where Huw is coming from but its insane to use the Bony deal , in any way , shape or form as reference to making the point hes trying to make

Bony was a board signing. If anyone was furious it was Laudrup as he wanted Aspas instead <doh>

Technically all signings are by the board. If Bony was the boards choice rather than Laudrup's why would Huw criticise the signing so openly?

Has he criticised or just stated we cannot afford to spend £12 million all the time?

Can someone show me where Huw said we shouldn't have signed him?

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has enjoyed an excellent first season in the Premier League and he is hoping his form may have caught the eye of a bigger club.

The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international insists he is happy at the Liberty Stadium following his £12m move from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem last summer.

However, he admits his ambition is to play UEFA Champions League football after featuring in the Europa League for the Swans this season.

Bony, who has scored six goals in his last seven games, told Sky Sports News' Weekend Warm-Up: "I want to be in a bigger club, like all young players dream.

"I want to do Champions League now. I want to play more European games, so I feel like that because you feel it is good to play against the big teams."
Wilfried Bony
"So, for me, it is very important to keep doing well what I am doing now and just try to get the chance, and if the chance comes to me then it is up to the club to decide.

"All I can say is that I'm very happy here to be playing in Europe again. If you win something you always want to do more, always pushing yourself.

"I want to do Champions League now. I want to play more European games, so I feel like that because you feel it is good to play against the big teams. It is good to check your level."

Swansea secured their Premier League status last weekend with victory over Aston Villa and Bony was delighted to play a crucial role as he scored twice for the second game running to take his tally to 24 for the season.

Ed Chamberlin looks ahead to Swansea versus Southampton.
"It's a good sensation for the team and for all the fans. It's very good. I think we deserve to stay in the Premier League," he said.

Former defender Garry Monk has been in charge of the Swans since Michael Laudrup departed in February and Bony believes the 35-year-old has what it takes to be successful in the job.

"Yes, why not?" said Bony. "He gives us the motivation and the winning character. He is new on that so he needs experience. But to have experience he needs to do that more.

"I don't know how he is going to be but I wish him good luck."

The crux of the matter is Bony's happy to stay until a bigger team comes in then he's off. Nothing wrong with that it's a natural progression in a players career. Good luck to him.

Yes - you are very wrong that HJ was "furious"; this is quite different from what he said: "now and again for the right player at the right time, it might be an option" - in future please show where you get your information from.

This is what the Evening Post reported:

Huw Jenkins has admitted he did not like the idea of spending £12 million on one player — and says Swansea City will not make a habit of splashing big cash.

Swansea obliterated their transfer record when they signed Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem during the close season.

With add-ons, the transfer could eventually be worth £13.75 million.

The Bony deal took Swansea into a new stratosphere, for their previous record fee paid was the £5.55 million spent on Pablo Hernandez last year.

But Jenkins has told Swansea’s fans not to expect a series of eight-figure deals to follow in the future.

Speaking at a fans’ forum held at the Liberty Stadium, Jenkins said: “This summer was the first time where we agreed to spend that money on one player, and personally I don’t like the idea of doing it.

“I don’t think it’s a great thing for our club to be doing season after season.

“Yes, now and again for the right player at the right time, it might be an option.

“But I think we all know our level should be a bit below that.

“We should be finding players who are suitable to us and who arrive for figures that are easier to sleep with.

“Signing Wilfried Bony was a big thing for us, but I would not like to keep paying fees like that all the time.”

Thanks for that Lydford. This is one myth that can be put to bed, as I have mentioned several times here.
