Reading around various forums and talking to a few Reds down here, and was wondering if anyone has any idea why so many of them are still so sore about us taking the piss at the SoL when they lost the title on goal difference? Some of them have been saying they hate us even more than City and Liverpool, and can't wait for us to get relegated. They clearly can't take a bit of banter, the reaction would have been the same at any ground in the country ffs... Plus I remember their fans taking the piss when we got relegated at OT a few years back, so balls to 'em! Going for a 2-2 draw tomorrow, Wickham and Johnson.
Just been on there site,and god they are bitter and twisted bunch,just like there team,they seem to think they have a god given right to be top dogs. Well all i can say welcome to the real world. I think even if they rebuild for next season,it is going to take sometime for them to be top dogs again. I have always liked manu,as i would like safc to emulate what they have done over the years.
There are some decent, local United fans in fairness, but the sense of entitlement you get from the glory-hunters is insufferable. I went to the away leg of the Cup semi in January and was sitting in the Stretford End, lost count of how many cockney accents I heard.
We have a 300 million fan base mate, chances are you're going to hear a diverse range of accents when you come to Old Trafford. If you're suggesting that we couldn't fill Old Trafford with local support you're wrong, it just so happens that we have a widespread fan base. At cup games in particular, people from further afield will take advantage of the tickets on general sale. There's probably more Chinese and Indian fans than there are from London!
I'm not having a dig at the proper United fans mate, I know some sound lads who follow them, nor am I questioning the size of the local support. I just get wound up when some of the bandwagoners act like anyone who doesn't follow a top team is somehow inferior. Seen loads of comments online like "no-one gives a **** about Sunderland, eff off to the Championship, we'll always hate you for May 2012" etc and it all seems over the top for what was essentially a bit of banter. Don't forget our fans have done the poznan to wind up City before when we've scored against them as well!
it would have been exactly the same if it was any other set of fans. they would have also done the same if the boot was on the other foot (though the chance would be a fine thing)
We took 4 points of City that year. More than any other team, are they thnakful for that? Thought not.
aye i saw that, ****ing cluless idiots. any other group of fans would have taken the piss out of them. as it has been said on here we took 4 points of city and without us they wouldnt have been in the race at all.
Trouble with Manure fans is that they and a few other teams think they have a divine right to win everything, time to wake up and taste the coffee.
Just talked to son and grandson who are ManU supporters and neither of them, apparently along with the more sensible fans, want ManU to get many more points this season. Depending on other results (naturally) and the outcome of the cup final then they could qualify for the Europa league on league position. Not wanted because of the buggeration factor that goes with such a competition. Hopefully at least a draw today would suit them more than us.
