If we stay up, gotta chance now, but what should ES do, for next season?

Simple answer is, spend the cash, have a bash, but will he?

Squad is a nightmare, half are going at last, what the **** does Short say to Poyet, and what should be the plan and aim for the new season....(if it's prem).?

Start again, try to survive, or have a go,

Short is a tight twat like.

If we stay up we'll need big investment if we're to avoid a scenario similar to the last 3 seasons

i think there will be a mix of bosmans and cash deals. half our squad is out of contract and we need a lot of players to make up the numbers. hopefully thuis close season though the manager will have more of a say about the new recruits instaead of di fanti getting them all in last season.

i would sign him up all day. he's versatile and always puts a shift in. he has looked better getting forward and supporting the attackers. he could use a few more goals but i would be disappointed to see him go for nothing

Problem I have with Colback is he's clearly already started talking to clubs elsewhere.

Now, I know you're gonna say 'well why wouldn't he?', I say, actually, why not show some respect to the club that made you whilst fighting relegation?

I like Jack, he's a useful squad player, but if he's first 11 then we will again come up short, and will he be happy not being first 11?

He's one of the few I'd probably keep all things considered, but I'm not sure his position is tenable.

Losing him for nowt, well that's a massive **** up by whoever looks after contracts, cos he is probs a £4-6million asset.

Next season will be a similar season to this due to yet another team rebuild

However under Poyet I feel a lot more assured it will go a lot smoother and hopefully wont be in as much **** as this season

Poyet has had a couple of good/yet to be seen buys thus far

Vergini has came good, Ustari has looked solid when playing, Alonso has been superb

Scocco/Bridcutt I am yet to pass judgement on

However think if he can get the money, and get the players he wants, in a couple of seasons it would show

I have a feeling Ellis Short will try to offload the club in the summer!

I have this feeling as well mate, hopefully to Red Bull, then we are set.

I'd love Ellis to stay cos I like the bloke, but if he isn't gonna take it on and forward, then we need someone who is.

Could be that Eliis surprises us all, he has been great for the club.

There's no transfer window for selling clubs but it would be easier to flog a team still in the premier league.

I think if he was even considering selling the club then every man woman and dog would know it.

He'll not want a repeat of last summer but has to back poyet and congertan. I think there'll be a bit of hole filling (bosmans) a cpuple of loans and three or four players scouted out by congertan for the first team.

I cant see any of the loan players being signed now. And I think theres better value out there. To sign Borini Ki and Alonso would cost about 15-20m would anyone in there right mind spend that kind of money on those three?

If we stay up I hope we strengthen the spine of the team (new centre back, versatile centre midfielder, quick poacher type forward)

It's a matter of where we will be next season to dictate the price of the club!

I'd sign Alonso in heartbeat Parker and fail to see why anyone wouldn't.

He's shown passion, fight and ability, he's battled for the shirt, he's improved game on game.

We can probs do a straight swap for Diakite, which is an ideal scenario and will actually reduce the wage bill as well.

First time in years we've had a genuine LB with ability and potential.

I do like him but he blows hot and cold for me. The Diakite thing could swing it as we arent really losing anything and could get a decent left back for a fraction of his value. Out of the three hed be the one id want, thinking in realistic monetary terms. Liverpool would want about 10m for Borini and I reckon Swansea would hold out for upto £8m for Ki.

I wouldn't have Ki given after the way he lost interest, bellend.

He has the talent but his mentality is pathetic.

For a first 11 alone, we need (to my mind) something like....

Mannone ok - good in fact. Willl we keep Westwood? Hope so, plus, our England junior international goalie is another year older.

Defence. Brown (but years mounting up). O'Shea ok. Give Vergini his go. Dont pander to Bardsley. He should hang his head in shame for wanting away. Buy Alonso.

So. To my mind, we need cover badly.

Midfield. Catts, Bridcutt, Giach, AJ, all will be with us (if we stay up). I would also hope to keep Larsson and Gardner. Perhaps give Watmore a go? Colback? See bardsley.

Up front, get Borini. Keep Connor. Fletcher? Last chance saloon Ditch Jozy and Graham.

Thats 15. Apologies to any glaring omissions. (I'm sure they will be added!)

To my mind we need 11 good players in their correct positions.

    Who have I missed?

so bonny you keep the same players that have us in this position
We need a goal poacher as said previously
    keep brown but ditch O,Shea
Bardsley has not asked to leave but his contract is up hopefully we can keep him
We also need a midfielder with height Catts and Bridcutt are too small on their own

    Alonso for Diakite + 50p

Scocco to step up to the plate and replace Borini.

Ki to go, and needs replacing. **** attitude.
